Whether
you love him or hate him, you might want Mike Pence to become president
tomorrow if that would mean Trump is no longer in office. Sure, you don’t want
Trump to die (I at least hope so), but you want his administration to end. But
would changes be an improvement?
There’s
a post that I hope to do later talking about all the politicians with missing
emails and it seems that Mike Pence is one of them. His account was actually
hacked and I feel that he just does not have the right to criticize someone
over something that he did.
His
criticisms of Bill Clinton regarding Bill’s affairs are hypocritical as he
never said anything bad about Trump over his alleged affairs. All he did was say
that this person was lying. But I guess that Democrats should always be
condemned for wrongdoing and Republicans should always be excused since they
clearly wouldn’t do such things.
One
of the more notable things that he did was the NFL stunt where he attended the
beginning of a game only to leave once players knelt during it. This was at the
request of Trump. To think: he spent all that money on a ticket just to not see
the game in the end. I don’t know if he would have wanted to miss the game on
his own.
When
it seems that Trump needs a lapdog, Mike is more than often the person who
steps up to the plate in order to be that person. Any time Trump needs someone
important on his side, Mike steps in and becomes that person who agrees with
Trump on certain issues.
Another
more important thing is that he’s largely silent on some issues. This may
contradict my previous paragraph in some ways, but Mike actually knows when to
be silent. This may help him in the future or it could actually backfire with
him as the person who never spoke up when he by all means should have.
If
he has any main good things going for him, it is his Christian ways. Unlike
Trump, Mike really is a Christian. However, due to issues with the gay
community, I don’t know if he could wind up overcoming his actual biases with
them and could wind up further deteriorating what the public thinks about
Christians to the point that any good reputation that they are supposed to have
just does not exist anymore.
With
all the problems that Trump has caused and could continue to cause, Mike ascending
to the office of presidency might be a welcome change. It just might not be as
good of a change as we were wanting. Plus, as of at least January 21st,
if he ascends to the presidency, he would get to run for two full terms as president
instead of just one. I’d prefer him as president to Trump. But I would not want
him in that high office for any other reason.
