Politics: Dumb Things Trump Has Done

Here’s a fairly quick post to write. I thought that this would be a good idea to cover since, as usual, I don’t have enough time to write a better and longer post. So I might as well get this one done and out of the way. Also, as they sometimes say on Wikipedia, this incomplete list is not intended to be exhaustive.

Didn’t close an umbrella on Air Force One, leaving it at the top of the steps

Tried to extort Ukraine

Saluted a foreign military general

Ran for president

Continued to speak lies about the 2020 presidential election

Encouraged his supporters to storm the capitol

Got his own supporters arrested because of that

Nominated Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court

Didn’t withdraw that nomination

Poorly lead during the pandemic, resulting in lots of deaths

Held a bible the wrong way

Held plenty of non-Christian beliefs

Held rallies during the pandemic that resulted in deaths

Said things that got him banned from various social media accounts

Claimed that he could declassify things with his mind

“Person, woman, man, camera, TV”

Politics: Greg Abbott’s Busing Stunt

You might have heard of this. And this is one of the reasons why I miss a show like Madam Secretary and why we need a show like it to replace it in the future since we could see another show like it taking on a subject like this. But the governor of Texas, Greg Abbott, in his quest to become the most notable Republican which sadly means being as controversial as possible (I mean, seriously: why do Republicans have to be controversial and do terrible things in order to be known? Remember when one helped pass the Citizens with Disabilities Act? Where are those Republicans nowadays?) has come up with a stunt in order to address the so called problems at the border.

He is concerned about all of the undocumented immigrants crossing the border and he is not sure that people in Washington understand the problem. Thus, he is busing these people to other cities like Washington DC and other cities as well. He is sending them north. Of course, you’d think that it would be easier to send them back across the border by leaving them in a place closer to the border. But that would mean Republicans would be logical.

There would obviously be backlash to a stunt like this which has been going on during his own reelection campaign this year. It doesn’t seem to be hurting his chances in what is still one of the reddest states in the country. One of the criticisms is that it is akin to human trafficking. He counters saying that the bus rides are completely voluntary. Whether or not these migrants know that this is what they are agreeing to is unknown to me. They need to be interviewed more by people in the news. In fact, if you know of any at all, link them in the comments.

What I actually like about this is how it is hilariously backfiring in a way that I’m certain that Greg doesn’t want, but is very good for these migrants. While the migrants in Texas keep getting rejected by a whole lot, where he is sending them, they are being accepted and get to stay here in this country. Obviously, this isn’t what he wants to happen. But it is a good thing to come out of the whole stunt that he’s doing.

This makes me wonder about some things. While it is clear that Republicans often don’t care about people who don’t vote for them, they are completely fine pointing out the issues with some countries in this world while doing nothing to help the citizens of that country. How many of them say that they are worried that the US will wind up like Venezuela? But are they helping those from the country of Venezuela? They don’t mind using people as pieces in games they are playing like Greg is doing. But they clearly don’t want them getting the help that they are now getting. Thus, when it comes to stunts like this and other issues like this, you do have to wonder why they can’t do something good intentionally. After all, the bible says, “I was a stranger and you welcomed me in.” Shouldn’t that be how the supposed Christian party should be acting?

Cast Update 9-10-2022

I don’t think that there is much, if anything, to add in this introduction. I will state that this blog is now largely going to be just on Saturdays for a bit with one exception as the cheats that sometimes update it will move to another blog at some point in time. I’ll have to get to other potential changes later. We’ll see what I do.

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that. I don’t know when they finished filming the show, but you’d think that those who are still doing projects will have stuff right now to do (if that makes sense).

Endangered: This is a movie about the lives of threatened species. We’ll see what role she has in it. The website I’m checking makes it seem like she’ll be lending her voice to it so maybe it will be some sort of documentary. The release date is unknown now.

Bebe Neuwirth: She’s had a recurring bit on Blue Bloods and may show up on it from time to time. There are other minor things that she has done. It appears that she will be in a new movie called Julia. She will also be in something new called Teenage Euthanasia. Yet another thing that she will be in will be Ultra City Smiths. I hope to see what I can of this.

Julia: This is a show about Julia Child, the chef. It is available now on HBO Max. It first became available on 3-31-2022. There is a trailer for this that I will talk about. I might not care about missing the show even if I’m coming to like some cooking shows.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZBacZqwbCA

Thoughts on trailer: This looks way more interesting than I ever would have thought that it might be. Who would have thought that a woman would need to overcome cooking sterotypes? It seems like there is a lot more going on here than might need to be, but there isn’t much else to say about this. I doubt that I’ll be able to see it without borrowing this from my sister’s family for a moment, but it could be fine regardless of it I wind up seeing it in the future or not.

Teenage Euthanasia: Considering how the title talks about assisted suicide, one can be a bit unsure how this could turn into a good story. But the plot is more complicated than that and hard to sum up easily. The show is out now. There is a trailer for this:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T8HAs-5oX4

Thoughts on trailer: So this looks strange, but I was already expecting it. I guess that it is far too grim for even FOX by featuring mature content that not even that network would allow. I’m glad that the trailer explains a lot about the series, but I’m not upset that I’m going to be missing any of this in the end.

Ultra City Smiths: This is a TV show about two people looking for a missing celebrity. Will they find what they are looking for? One can only hope since that’s what the show is about. This is out now. I do not know what network this is on or what time it airs. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qthWw6NPMA

Thoughts on trailer: This looks weird and I probably would have liked it better if it were live action focusing on a more serious plot. I can’t gather much from the trailer, but there sure are a hell of a lot of people in it. And I guess that’s all that I can make sense of it for now. What else is there to say?

Geoffrey Arend: He will be in a project called Physical, a TV show. I’m glad that he could find something at long last. Hopefully, he’ll do a bunch more things all worth keeping track of in this blog and worth watching as well if I can see them at all.

Physical: This is a TV show, but too much about this is unknown at this point in time. It is out now on Apple TV. It also has a trailer that I will be talking some about. It is a very new thing and imdb isn’t revealing much about it now as a result. But we’ll find out more about this over time.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQTFdslwJYo

Thoughts on trailer: I’m not entirely sure what to make of this. It doesn’t seem that bad, but it doesn’t seem anywhere close to good either. It is going for something maybe a bit different, but I can’t really get behind it that much. I was never one for the 80s as I wasn't even born yet and really only get stuff out of it from when I see The Goldbergs. It doesn’t seem all that interesting to me really.

Kathrine Herzer: She hasn’t been doing much since the show ended or now, it seems. Maybe she is going back to a more normal life. Not all the child actors or actresses continue into the field when they get older as they want to do other things in life. Remember the people from Shining Time Station?

Evan Roe: Again, this person has not been doing much after the show ended. I guess it hasn’t been over long enough or a lot of these people just haven’t found a new job yet, at least in the Hollywood industry. You’d think that the filming would have ended long enough ago, but maybe not.

Tim Daly: The time has come to say what this man is finally doing after Madam Secretary as he finally has something new in the works now. He is set to be in The Game, a TV show. He is also now in Finestkind. That’s it for now.

The Game: This is a TV series about black culture and how it regards to football. It could be good and is a continuation of CW show from a while ago that also aired on BET. This is available now on Paramount+. I am not currently planning on watching it.

Finestkind: I’m guessing that this is a movie or supposed to be. It has an unknown date of release at the moment. It is about two brothers finding themselves trapped in issues with organized crime people. There is no trailer yet.

Zeljko Ivanek: He is finally set to be in something called Now and Then, which is a TV show. Maybe we’ll see more of his acting in the future or maybe we won’t. Another thing that he will be in is Let the Right One in. That is all for now.

Now and Then: This is a TV series about a group of Hispanic friends meeting again years after one of them is found dead. It is available now. It is on Apple TV+. It could be good, but it doesn’t sound original. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zfyk7tbtTN4

Thoughts on trailer: Well, this looks like it could be interesting and also complicated in different ways. It seems to focus too much on clichés, although I couldn’t guess who might be guilty in the end of anything (it might be all of them). I don’t think that I’ll miss much by not being able to see it, even if some of this could be good.

Let the Right One in: This doesn’t have a trailer yet. It is set for release on October 7, 2022. This is a vampire drama that I believe is based on an existing movie that was also already remade into a movie before, albeit much earlier and too soon after the old one was just out from what I understand of it. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_abIA--OY3Y

Thoughts on trailer: Well, I’m fine without this. While there have been a few horror movies that I have liked to an extent, this doesn’t look like one of them, although it is a TV show and not a movie. But that’s not the point exactly. It seems obvious and dumb so I’ll be better off without it.

Erich Bergen: He’s also not doing much yet as of the show ending. After appearing in some episodes of the final season of Bull, I’ll have to wait to see what else he is up to in the future after this. I can only hope that he does more in the future.

Patina Miller: She is the narrator of a show called Word Party. That’s all that she’s doing for now. I think that she’s a mother so that may affect how much work she’ll be able to do. We’ll see what goes on in her life and I hope she can do something I can watch. She’s also set to be in the upcoming project of Into the Woods.

Word Party: This is a Netflix kids show that is available now. Patina is the narrator of it. I don’t know much about it. I doubt that I will be able to see it in the future. This show is about teaching others how to talk and learning simple things like that.

Into the Woods: This has no plot yet. What I’m unsure of is if this is a remake of the movie Into the Woods or, perhaps, a live musical version of this. It would seem kind of early in my mind to remake the movie. Anyways, it has no release date or trailer yet.

Wallis Currie-Wood: She has done very little outside of the show. Maybe she will do something more in Hollywood or maybe not. It will be hard to understand some of why I’m not seeing much in terms of what the cast is doing in the future unless or until more time passes.

Keith Carradine: He has two projects in the works. One is called Sallywood. The other one is called The Daylong Brothers. We’ll see what happens between those and anything else that he does. I look forward to hopefully seeing these films at some point in time. Maybe more will happen in the future. He’s also in the new season of Fear the Walking Dead.

Sallywood: This movie romantic in some way, but I don’t know if it’s a comedy or not. It is about a man who moves to Hollywood and becomes a woman’s personal assistant. They’ll be more to it than that. It has an unknown release date at this time.

The Daylong Brothers: This has an unknown release date at this time. It is about three brothers who try to get revenge on their father for selling their souls. This could be interesting, even if I don’t really like to watch horror films. But this could just be normal supernatural.

Fear the Walking Dead: This is an AMC show that is a spin-off of the original Walking Dead. At first, it was a prequel set at the start of the zombie outbreak. Now, it is set sometime later during the same time frame as the original. I don’t know when or if I’ll be able to see this, but will include this in the updates for as long as Keith is in it.

Sebastian Arcelus: It looks like he will appear in a TV movie or perhaps potential pilot called Blanco. He’s doing better than others in terms of projects in the works. He is also now set to be in the movie Into the Woods.

Blanco: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It is about a criminal who seeks to work with the cops only to build his criminal empire. I have no idea what network this would air on, if any. This might be just another in a long line of passed pilots that I get confused about and wind up in this blog for a long time like what you might have seen in my CSI: Cyber blog.

Into the Woods: This has no plot yet. What I’m unsure of is if this is a remake of the movie Into the Woods or, perhaps, a live musical version of this. It would seem kind of early in my mind to remake the movie. Anyways, it has no release date or trailer yet.

Sara Ramirez: We’ll see what else she might do in the future. It could be a lot or not much at all. One source is now saying that her show, And Just Like That, is returning for a season 2 after all. And there have been rumors for a while now that she might be returning for a guest appearance or so in Grey’s Anatomy. Other than those two roles, I don’t see anything mentioned of hers for now.

Kevin Rahm: There isn’t much to talk about for him right now. But I did find something for him. He will be in Life by Ella. It is nice to see something that is worth covering in this blog for once. There wasn’t much else to ever mention about him before.

Life by Ella: This is out now. This is about a middle school aged girl who seems to be an optimist in a world set to destroy that type of person. This will be on Apple TV+. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26v9O_yMJOU

Thoughts on trailer: This looks sweet and sentimental. It also looks chessy as one might expect from this sort of thing. I wonder why imdb didn’t mention that she was a cancer survivor. What up with that? And if her father thought that the things that he pretended not to hear were bad, at least she didn’t mention having sex. But she appears to be too young for that. Anyways, there’s not much else to say outside of the fact that this does look good, but I guess we’ll see if that’s the case or you blog readers will.

Barbara Hall: I will see what future, if any, she might have in the TV or movie industry. You’d think that she’d be doing something at some point or another, but maybe she won’t be at least for a while. I guess that I’ll keep her in the updates since only death would get rid of someone.
