Episode from 5-8-2016

Normally I keep you updated on what shows on DVD I watch. I have a list of stuff to roll from and I have a line of replacements for when I’m done with one of them. Now I haven’t been able to change this list as much lately, but I will be able to write a whole lot about that next time. Be prepared for this in the season premiere’s first blog post. I’m glad that this show is coming back for next season. Don’t be surprised if this blog gets strange and I do paragraphs in a different font that I’m also putting in a different blog of mine.

If you ever see this font when I do a post, then I have linked it up with my Survivor blog in a way for a reason. I talk about what I watch on DVD in this blog and once Survivor: Palau is moved to this blog (if it is at all, that is), I will mention certain things in this font in both this blog and my blog about Survivor.

This basically is just to keep you updated on the TV shows on DVD that I watch. I don’t know why I’m telling you about this, but I enjoy it and sometime have nothing better to do in blogs like this. I should just form a new blog about my OCD habits, but due to said habits, I wouldn’t be able to do this unless the newest blog of mine has an unread post when 23 other posts are published after it. And there are other blogs that I’d create before that anyways. What I should really do is start a podcast about my TV junkie ways. I just want at least one other person who could help me with it. I could start without a cohost, but I’d love to podcast with someone who loves TV as much as I do.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with Elizabeth walking with someone talking about Demitri. The McCords minus Elizabeth go out to miniature golf with Stevie’s boyfriend. He asks Henry permission to marry Stevie which Henry then tells to Elizabeth. Elizabeth hears rumors that she might be replaced. How would that work? The show is about her. If she isn’t madam secretary, than who would the show be about?

In segment two, Stevie announces that she is engaged to her stunned parents. She wants to get married really soon while her parents try to think of some way to bring up their objections. Elizabeth tells Henry about the possible replacement of herself. Can a president just up and dismiss a member of their cabinet? I don’t know if that’s actually allowed or not.

In segment three, there is something confusing about a preschool that people want Elizabeth to deal with in some way. She also talks to someone about possibly freeing Demitri, even though she’s not certain that he’s still alive. Is she doing this behind the president’s back? As a sign of good will, she wants Demitri’s sister released from prison.

In segment four, we learn the real reason that Conrad is looking for a new Secretary of State: he wants to make Elizabeth vice-president. Could that happen? Would the show be a misnomer in the future? Henry talks to Stevie about marriage decisions. She thinks that it could be a mistake going into marriage this soon yet she also still wants to do it. Elizabeth still talks about trying to get Demitri back.

In segment five, we get to the speech that Matt is doing. I don’t know why I was confused about it and thought that it related to a preschool of some sort. But he seems to do a pretty acceptable job at the speech. We then go to Finland for the prisoner exchange and it turns out that Demitri is in fact alive. Also, Stevie is delaying her wedding for the future after the okay from whatever the name of her fiancée is. I’ll need to learn this since he will probably be more important in the future.

I’ll be back some time next season with new posts then. I don’t know yet when that will be, but we’ll see what happens. Remember that if a holiday related episode airs that I will probably post it as close to the holiday as possible. Until then, you’ll see the rest of the episodes in some order of some sort. Also, I believe that the actual spelling of Demitri is actually Dmitri. I’ll have to change that in posts for next season. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 5-1-2016

Sometimes shows become misnomers. They have a title but then the title doesn’t always work with later parts of the show. Sometimes you have to worry about it, but other times you don’t. I wonder if this show could be a misnomer in the future. It could be. I also wonder that about Jane the Virgin. They make it seem like she is getting married soon, meaning that the virgin thing will go away. Will it happen? Will she not be a virgin anymore? Or will something happen to her fiancée before the wedding? He could die. I have the feeling that he might.

I should have watched this live instead of putting it on my laptop. The show I was watching live didn’t come in that well. Normally this wouldn’t be that big of a problem, but there were glitchiness problems with my TV tuner. At least the audio is working well. This is becoming more of a problem then it should be. At least I’m able to watch it. Meanwhile, I should make sure that the downstairs converter box for DTV is still working right. I might have to get a back-up one because if the one downstairs stops working, I don’t know how I’ll still be able to record stuff on VHS. I could have to give that up, but only if it keeps failing at times. Of course, if I’m lucky, I can find another VCR to start using again. I just don’t think that it would work to have only two TVs working again since three is what works best for us.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with more of the fallout from the previous episode. Elizabeth is worried about her husband who is still undercover. Alison calls about a problem with a permission slip. Henry’s team needs to take advantage of an opportunity that they have.

In segment two, it appears that Henry’s team (Murphy Station?) is shot at and they then have to escape and wind up in a grocery store. It doesn’t seem like that much happens besides that and I hate the poor quality of the recording I’m watching.

In segment three, there are more of the permission slip problems that Elizabeth can’t resolve and neither can her hired hand, it seems. Henry’s team had an injured person and they are trying to figure out how to help him. They also have a native captive so they figure that he could possibly help their injured friend.

In segment four, we don’t see any of Henry’s story this time. I wonder what will be next for him. Elizabeth and her team try to help solve the situation as they do every other episode. It’s always a different situation, but it always is something of some sort that needs solved.

In segment five, they look through things at the situation room and are able to find their crew again. Henry is asked to perform something akin to last rites and doesn’t want to do it as he feels that it would be against Catholic teaching. It looks like everything is going well on that front. I don’t think that the injured person died. As for the permission slip, Elizabeth gets confused and rants to the person in charge although it appears that everything is okay regarding it. Alison is probably not going to be stuck not going. As for other issues, it appears that Demitri might still be alive. I had the feeling that might be the case, although I didn’t mention it earlier. Sorry about that.

On the next Madam Secretary, it appears that there might be a cliffhanger this season as Elizabeth could potentially lose her job. And here I was thinking that a different thing could make this show a misnomer. Would that actually happen? Is that allowed to happen? I guess this show is fiction so they can ignore whatever real rules actually exist. To me this all seems odd, but at the very least, pretty interesting. I’ll be back soon with the season finale. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 4-24-2016

Sorry for the lack of an introduction in the blog post of the previous episode. (The added introduction that explains about posting it doesn’t ever count in my mind.) I’m also sorry that I always have these stupid introductions in the post. I honestly didn’t know what to say last time. I also never thought that I’d never be able to avoid doing that in one of my posts not about TV in general (well, those have introductions), but they tend to actually make sense and work for the most part. I’m not really sure what else there is to say about this. Maybe I'll change, maybe I won't.

Remember how I have far too much recorded to watch on VHS? Well, I also have enough choices now that I could create a third list of TV shows on DVD (and things close enough to it) if I wanted to. Of course, there’s only supposed to be one list despite however many choices I might have waiting to be added to the list. The main reason that I changed this was to ensure that a particular show could be rolled from in the meantime since it getting rolled means updating various other blogs such as this one. I’m not sure if this will work in the future or not, but I’m going to keep doing it for now.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with Elizabeth and Henry in couple’s therapy. They seem to want to work out issues of some sort. There is the usual drama going on with work for both of them so their therapist suggests not talking about work. There is a problem going on as usual and Elizabeth as usual works on possible solutions as usual.

In segment two, Murphy Station comes up. Who or what is that? I’ve never heard that phrase before so I’m not entirely sure what it means. Henry talks about his problems with Demitri’s death and there are also issues with Demitri’s sister that are important. I’m not sure that much is happening.

In segment three, they keep talking about this foreign something or other that I probably couldn’t even pronounce, much less say. There are issues with Pakistan over various problems, one of which was the dirty bomb from a previous episode. Henry and Elizabeth come up with a cover story of some type to tell their kids about where their father is and why. I still don’t fully understand what is going on.

In segment four, Elizabeth and Conrad talk to a Pakistan official about the possibly rogue person. This rogue person proves that he can cause problems and he uses twitter to do so. They then have to evacuate the embassy that Henry is at.

In segment five, the president’s team looks at the footage of what is going on in Pakistan. They try to work on a solution to the problem by getting their people to safety. One of the persons is taken from his car and beaten. The episode ends with Elizabeth trying and failing to get in touch with her husband over the phone.

On the next Madam Secretary, they are hunting for a terrorist. It appears that Elizabeth will make contact with Henry or possibly someone who knows more information. What will happen? I guess we’ll have to wait to see to know for sure. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
