Politics: The Five BEST Things about Trump

It was at some point during the Trump administration where I promised my cousin in-law to at one point post on facebook what the five best things about Trump are. This post will be like what you will eventually see of this on a future facebook status update of mine. This was largely due to a conversation dating from June of 2018 where this was part of the discussion. I wasn’t able to finish that list then, but I’m going to do that now.

Rules: I actually had no agreed upon rules going into this post, but I still thought that I would lay out a few ground rules as I do this post. I’m going to have to do this without sarcasm. I can’t, for instance, mention how Trump helped ruin the career of that former senator and attorney general whose name I don’t recall as a positive as that is clearly sarcastic. I also will try my best to do this without caveats either. I will have to do this by not saying this is a good thing, but… Now let’s get to the list and sorry in advance if there are a lot of caveats after all.

5 Helping with funding to develop a coronavirus vaccine: Perhaps the only good thing that he did with the pandemic was putting effort into funding a vaccine. Now I have information saying that one of the major vaccines was not involved with Operation Warpspeed, the Trump based vaccine funding thing. But it was still a good thing to spend his money trying to fix the pandemic with the only way that it will end.

#4 Missile strikes against Iran: This may be a strange one to put on the list, but I feel that it is good to show a dictator that gassing his own people won’t be tolerated. There have been a lot of bullheaded moves that Trump have made without thinking of the consequences. This very well is one of them, but at least one that shows how one should respond against egregious acts.

#3 Working some with North Korea: I have no idea how Trump actually managed to rationalize this one since he was very childish with this country starting out. And one could correctly point out that he shouldn’t be cozying up to dictators. But he did do what he could to deescalate the situation with this country and make the place less likely to cause issues for a moment.

#2 Dealing serious blows to ISIS: No, he didn’t defeat ISIS as some still incorrectly believe (which should be evident by all the times you hear from them in the news such as their reaction to the storming of the capitol), but he helped bring in severe damage to the terrorist group as they suffered a lot of setbacks due to the Trump administration.

#1 Signing autism related bill: This may be a bit overlooked and seem irrelevant in some ways. Plus, it seems odd that he is against protecting health care coverage for people with pre-existing conditions. But he still did this good bill that I’m glad my sister told me about.

https://abcnews.go.com/Health/trump-signs-18-billion-autism-cares-act/story?id=66002425&cid=social_fb_abcn&fbclid=IwAR04ojSI6YNMZU558xrx0HMK9NhKaj-WEX7dyanszFNl3YIlxOmbY0_e-XE

That’s it for this post. I wish that I could include his ways against abortion, but he is far from pro-life with the way that he handled the pandemic and other issues that lead to death that I just could not say that in a genuine way. Still, these are the five best things that I could think of that he did. I even avoided sharing anti-Trump things for a brief time on facebook until after the 2019 elections once I learned of what I’m sharing again via this link. I wonder if I did a good thing with this list or not. Stay tuned for the similar facebook post.

Politics: China- Is it a Problem or are People Racist?

With all this talk nowadays about the potential problems that China could cause if they were a bigger power more than they already are, you do have to wonder if there is a thin line between those who think that China is going to somehow take over the US or those who think that we should be worried about the potential superpower of a Fascist country. This delves into the very title of this post. Are the people who worry about China racist? Or could that country cause all sorts of issues?

Of course, I’m not entirely sure of the answer to this offhand myself. There might be some truths to both sides of the equation. But you do have to wonder about other superpowers like Russia. Does not liking Russia or thinking that it is a problem make you racist? I’d argue no. But then you’d have to think of the fact that Russians and Chinese people look different.

I worry sometimes about how China still is treated over the pandemic. They have been blamed a lot for it. And they may bare at least some responsibility. Now it still wouldn’t explain why it is worse in places like the US where people still deny the severity of the pandemic over a year into it. Maybe they have better lockdowns there that you couldn’t get in a democratic country like the US. But the fact still remains that blaming China for the pandemic still doesn’t explain why after a neighbor’s house caught fire, you wouldn’t put out the one at your own house.

As for other issues, I’ve seen people on 60 Minutes talk some about the potential problems with China. You’d think that this could mean that they are biased against China in some way. But there still are problems with how that country works and is run. You could say the same thing about probably any country for that matter. There have been times when CBS has been a bit annoying as of late regarding China or the pandemic. But they could still be right about some of the problems that are being caused.

So I end the post here, leaving much of this ambiguous in a way. Some of the talking points that I’ve heard about China is just ridiculous and would not have any chance of happening. But there are issues that that country could cause, have caused, or could be causing right now. It is just a bit hard to tell for sure right now.

Politics: How the Trump Party Came to be

This will be a new part of this blog for a while. I had wanted to do this earlier when I ran out of topics for one series of posts that I was doing on politics, but then decided to go with something else as I was concerned that I wouldn’t have enough posts on a Trump centric thing and frankly wanted a break from it. Now that I have a free spot for it again, I’m going to include this as a series of posts here. You would have seen something like this once in this blog before and also in my Good Wife blog for a while.

Now let’s get to the name of this post. What do I mean by the Trump party? You wouldn’t think that you would see this in an official way by any means. But to me, it is quite clear that what was once known as the Republican Party is now the Trump Party. Even though it is possible that Trump himself will fade away, he has changed the party too much to the point of it being very unrecognizable from whatever it used to be like.

They even knew and admitted as such as the poison of Trump slowly slipped into the party as a whole. Once he became the nominee, nearly all of them fell in line with Trump. They did not want to lose his supporters even as they wanted to lose him. As they were stuck with him for at least four years with him as president, they forgot their own warning that he would be the end of the Republican Party.

Slowly, the party devolved into madness (as if it wasn’t that already) as anyone who dared to stand up to Trump was quickly ostracized. There were rare moments when people spoke out against Trump, but it was normally for less than a day. They would never call out the problems of his even as their own party suffered.

Soon, if you were NOT defending someone like Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct, you were a horrible person. You would attack his accuser, trying to destroy her side of the story while wondering why she never came forward sooner. They would ignore any and all of the crimes that Trump was accused of while not giving Democrats any of the same leeway at all in any way. That’s not to say that they should give Democrats leeway when they do wrong. They should just know to attack their own when they deserve it too.

After the capitol riot, 147 Republicans still voted against certifying the election. We see a lot of them still refuse to hold Trump accountable for wrongdoing and those that do vote to impeach Trump then get censored by their own party. They may have Trump voters, but at what cost? A well known saying is this: what good is it for a man to gain the world, but lose his soul? They have lost the soul of their party while becoming the party of Trump. And if Trump isn’t in jail by the time that the Republican primary for president starts in 2024, do they really think that he is just going to step aside and let others run instead of him?

Cast Update 4-6-2021

Just in case that you are not here for every post, know that I plan to do a post of this blog on the first Tuesday of the month. I plan to do a political post every Tuesday this month and then I might only be here once a month for sure. It is hard to know for sure just what all can change, but I do hope that this blog can be as normal as possible. Know that political topics are still addressed on my blogs on The Good Wife and The Good Fight if you don’t find them here.

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that. I don’t know when they finished filming the show, but you’d think that those who are still doing projects will have stuff right now to do (if that makes sense).

Endangered: This is a movie about the lives of threatened species. We’ll see what role she has in it. The website I’m checking makes it seem like she’ll be lending her voice to it so maybe it will be some sort of documentary. The release date is unknown now.

Bebe Neuwirth: She’s had a recurring bit on Blue Bloods and may show up on it from time to time. There are other minor things that she has done. It appears that she will be in a new movie called Julia. She will also be in something new called Teenage Euthanasia. Yet another thing that she will be in will be Ultra City Smiths.

Julia: This is a pilot for a show about Julia Child, the chef. We’ll see if anything comes from the pilot in the future or not. It would have an edge if it was already filmed. The release date is currently unknown for this. Maybe one will never come.

Teenage Euthanasia: Considering how the title talks about assisted suicide, one can be a bit unsure how this could turn into a good story. But the plot is more complicated than that and hard to some up easily. The show is set to air sometime in 2021.

Ultra City Smiths: This is a TV show about two people looking for a missing celebrity. Will they find what they are looking for? One can only hope since that’s what the show is about. This has a release year of 2021. I do not know what network this would air on or what time that it would air.

Geoffrey Arend: There are now two things to note regarding him. One is a project that he will be in called Physical, a TV show. He is also set to be in Justice Society: World War II. I’m glad that he could find something at long last.

Physical: This is a TV show, but too much about this is unknown at this point in time. It has no release date or trailer just yet. It is a very new thing and imdb isn’t revealing much about it now as a result. But we’ll find out more about this over time.

Justice Society: World War II: This is expected for release on April 27, 2021. In this movie, which is probably an adaptation of a comic book, a person comes from the future that changes history in some way for some reason. There is a trailer for it now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4xXbGFhEFg

Thoughts on trailer: Parts of this look like it could be good. The parts that seem like it could be the biggest problem to me is the animation which looks stilted in some ways and not as natural looking as I would like. Hopefully that wouldn’t be too much of a distraction from the rest of the movie.

Kathrine Herzer: She hasn’t been doing much since the show ended or now, it seems. Maybe she is going back to a more normal life. Not all the child actors or actresses continue into the field when they get older as they want to do other things in life. Remember the people from Shining Time Station?

Evan Roe: Again, this person has not been doing much after the show ended. I guess it hasn’t been over long enough or a lot of these people just haven’t found a new job yet, at least in the Hollywood industry. You’d think that the filming would have ended long enough ago, but maybe not.

Tim Daly: The time has come to say what this man is finally doing after Madam Secretary as he finally has something new in the works now. He is working on a project called The Sixth Reel. I don’t know what it is yet, but at least it is something.

The Sixth Reel: This is a project that I currently don’t know much about right now. Is it a movie, TV show, or something else entirely? I have no idea. It is said to be a comedy of some sort. But is it a movie comedy or a sitcom of some sort? I also don’t know the plot of it just yet. Also, the release date is unknown as well. Yet at least, this is something.

Zeljko Ivanek: He also has no new projects in the works right now, although he could be wanting to retire in the future or something like that. I won’t make assumptions and just wait until the next time I see something potentially in a later post.

Erich Bergen: He’s also doing nothing yet as of the show ending. How recently did filming wrap? Was it not that long ago? Why is no one that I’m looking up doing anything yet? I don’t get it. Whatever the reason, he has nothing yet and maybe that will change later.

Patina Miller: She is the narrator of a show called Word Party. That’s all that she’s doing for now. I think that she’s a mother so that may affect how much work she’ll be able to do. We’ll see what goes on in her life and I hope she can do something I can watch. She will also be in a project called Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Word Party: This is a Netflix kids show that is available now. Patina is the narrator of it. I don’t know much about it. I doubt that I will be able to see it in the future. This show is about teaching others how to talk and learning simple things like that.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan: This isn’t set to air until 2021. It is a prequel about Kanan Stark, whoever that is. I doubt already that I’ll be able to see it, although I guess that it is possible that I might at some point. I hope to find out more info about this soon.

Wallis Currie-Wood: She has done very little outside of the show. Maybe she will do something more in Hollywood or maybe not. It will be hard to understand some of why I’m not seeing much in terms of what the cast is doing in the future unless or until more time passes.

Keith Carradine: He has two projects in the works. One is called Sallywood. The other one is called The Daylong Brothers. We’ll see what happens between those and anything else that he does. I look forward to hopefully seeing these films at some point in time. He will also be in something called The Power of the Dog. Maybe more will happen in the future.

Sallywood: This movie romantic in some way, but I don’t know if it’s a comedy or not. It is about a man who moves to Hollywood and becomes a woman’s personal assistant. They’ll be more to it than that. It has an unknown release date at this time.

The Daylong Brothers: This has an unknown release date at this time. It is about three brothers who try to get revenge on their father for selling their souls. This could be interesting, even if I don’t really like to watch horror films. But this could just be normal supernatural.

The Power of the Dog: I don’t know why they are making a Trump based movie. Wait, this has nothing to do with politics. It is about sibling rivalry that happens between two men who are brothers when one of them gets married. It is set for release in 2021.

Sebastian Arcelus: It looks like he will appear in a TV movie or perhaps potential pilot called Blanco. He’s doing better than others in terms of projects in the works. He’s also doing a project called Homebound. That is it for now.

Homebound: This is set for release in 2021. It is about a woman searching for her therapy dog as she deals with personal fears or things like that. There is no trailer for this yet or specific release date. It could be good, but I won’t know unless I can see it at some point. It is a short.

Blanco: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It is about a criminal who seeks to work with the cops only to build his criminal empire. I have no idea what network this would air on, if any. This might be just another in a long line of passed pilots that I get confused about and wind up in this blog for a long time like what you might have seen in my CSI: Cyber blog.

Sara Ramirez: Despite not appearing or even being mentioned in the final season of this show, she has not done a thing since leaving this show. The others I can understand as they haven’t been off the show this long, but I want her to do something. And I hope she improves her hairstyle for the future.

Kevin Rahm: While the entire world is crazy right now and pilot season messed up, there still might be hope that he is doing something as I see him in Vegas High, the potential pilot for a TV show. We’ll see what, if anything, comes of it later.

Vegas High: This is a pilot for HBO Max. Whether or not it becomes a series is unknown, but if they already filmed the pilot, it would have an edge on other shows. The plot is about a female torn between her Mormon life and the fast paced life of Las Vegas. The planned project was cancelled by not being picked up to series.

Barbara Hall: I will see what future, if any, she might have in the film or movie industry. You’d think that she’d be doing something at some point or another, but maybe she won’t be at least for a while. I guess that I’ll keep her in the updates for now.
