Episode from 4-22-2018

You know, it seems odd, but it seems that this show, despite having quite possibly the worst timeslots in all of TV history, seems likely to survive into the next season. Now you’ll never know when a show will end that should have lasted longer, like Limitless. But this show seems to be the first one in quite a while to last in this timeslot. I wonder if people would still be watching it if Hilary Clinton were president.

Well, I’ve put it off for long enough so it’s about time that I research more of football team match-ups of the tier one teams that I have. Let’s start with the Rams. They beat the Raiders, lost to the Chargers, beat the Colts, and beat the Titans. The 49ers beat the Chiefs, lost to the Colts, and beat the Titans. I’m only doing match-ups that weren’t seen last season.

The Broncos didn’t play any teams that they haven’t already done a match-up with in the previous season. But I will retroactively make them beat the Steelers since that is what happened in the post season of when I started adding other teams than the Rams alone to root for. The Chargers beat the Rams. And like the other teams, they’ve already played games that matter, although I might have to come back to this should there be new ties. Next is the Raiders. They lost to the Rams. The Chiefs lost to the 49ers. The Titans lost to the Steelers, lost to the 49ers, and lost to the Rams.

The Colts lost to the Rams and beat the 49ers. The Steelers lost to the Bears and beat the Titans. The Bears aren’t actually a team that I root for, but I still include them for comparison. The Bears beat the Steelers and that’s it. Now how do I rank the teams? And how does it relate to their previous rankings? What could still change in future seasons? We’ll see later, maybe.

Let’s see what the rankings are now. Remember that I’m factoring in the previous rankings from the post about the episode from 3-5-2017 that was posted in May. The Rams are now 3 out of 4 with their 1 out of 3 last season makes them 4 out of 7. The 49ers are 2 out of 3 plus their 3 out of 4 last season makes them makes them 5 out of 7. The Broncos retroactive post makes them 4 out of 9 for both of their seasons. The Chargers have 1 out of 1 this season compared with their 1 out of 6 last season makes them 2 out of 7. The Raiders are 0 out of 1 this season and 3 out of 5 last season which makes them 3 out of 6 this season.

Continuing the teams, the Chiefs are 0 out of 1 this season and 5 out of 8 last season, which makes them 5 out of 9. The Titans are 0 out of 3 this season and 5 out of 6 last season, which makes them 5 out of 9 for both seasons. The Colts are 1 out of 2 this season and were 3 out of 7 last season, which makes them 4 out of 9 for both seasons. The Steelers are 1 out of 2 this season and compared with their retroactive loss to the Broncos, this makes them 3 out of 5. The Bears are 1 out of 1 this season and were 1 out of 5 last season, which makes them 2 out of 6 for both seasons.

Now what is the ranking of all the teams? Remember that the Bears are just for comparison and not because I like them. Also, since the Rams will automatically rank higher than the 49ers or the Chargers, you will see the Philadelphia Eagles ranked where they should be, even though the Eagles are ranked lower than these teams and the next four I’ve already talked about before.

What are the rankings? Here they are from highest to tenth highest: Rams, 49ers, Titans & Chiefs (tie), Eagles, Colts & Broncos (tie), Raiders, Steelers, Bears, and Chargers. The winner of the ties that I have ranked are from the previous winners of the previous rankings, but I will check later to see where they rank among themselves this season, if they played each other. Otherwise, I’ll have to wait until they play each other next season.

Speaking of which, what are all the games that need to be played among the ten teams that haven’t been played yet according to my rules? Well, The Rams need to play the Steelers, Bears, and Chiefs. The 49ers need to play the Steelers and Raiders. The Chargers need to play the Steelers and Bears. The Raiders need to play the Steelers, 49ers, and Bears. The Steelers would need to play the Rams, 49ers, Chargers, and Raiders. The Bears would need to play the Rams, Chargers, and Raiders. The Chiefs have played everyone they need to. The Titans have played everyone they need to. The Broncos have played everyone they need to. The Colts have played everyone that they need to. And when all nine teams have played each other, we wait until it happens again in case there are any ties.

I have heard a lot about the Iran nuclear deal and am not sure that I have heard it in an unbiased way. So much of it seems to be negative about the deal. But it tells them that they can’t get nuclear weapons or there will be consequences for it. Well, that’s my understanding at least. But like Common Core, I might not ever fully understand it for myself and only get people’s negative thoughts on it. The main reason that I’m bringing this up is this: if we can get Iran to do a deal to stop their development of the nuclear weapons they were going to have, why not try to make a deal with North Korea? Why not get them to sign an agreement to have them stop making nuclear weapons? Would this make people think then that the deal with Iran might actually be good and shouldn’t have been attacked like it was?

When it comes to the idea of the fact that the US is on record for not paying for hostages of terrorists, I think that’s a bad idea. I can understand a bit not wanting government money to go for it, but if one has the money the terrorists are looking for, why not pay it? I think that not paying for hostages is a bad idea because it gives them way more power than they should have. Although, trying to see it from the other side, maybe they don’t want the money that is paid to go up higher and higher.

What we want is for the hostages to get rescued, the terrorist in some way punished, and no money to be lost. But I don’t know if any of that could happen and you’d think that the live of the hostage would be more important. Still, you’d have to wonder if this policy were to change if somehow a very high profile person were to somehow become a hostage. Then again, we could wind up with a coup, a whole different problem, if someone like the president was somehow kidnapped.

My thoughts on the missile strikes might seem odd, but I think that they should be happening. There is no reason why we should let someone be able to gas their own people without them being punished. I’d like to think that someone as bad as Hitler would be more likely to have his reign cut short nowadays since people know what is going on. Of course, there’s also fake news, which is more of a retort for something that people don’t like than people accurately saying that it is messed up. I can understand why some people think that a president shouldn’t do that without Congressional approval as it is an act of war. But Congress is supposed to approve all wars and the last time they did was World War II. We have had tons of wars after that and no one has questioned their legitimacy. As for the missile strikes, make sure that they don’t interrupt any TV shows.

There was an issue recording this on my TV tuner so I’ll have to watch it online. I know that CBS has a website that could be having problems. Only, it isn’t loading problems like NBC’s website. It seems that they are being douches and not making things as available as they should be. I should be able to watch it or I’ll try to find a way to see it elsewhere. Otherwise, there won’t be an update.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with Elizabeth and Henry returning home from some sort of outing. Elizabeth thinks that she and Henry are too separated from their friends. Daisy talks with Jay about what must be the problem of the week. Matt talks about his relationship that has ended. It must have been really important since this is the first time we’ve heard about it. People in Honduras get kidnapped and Elizabeth has to help in some way. Also, someone she was meeting with thought that she was doing something wrong.

In segment two, it seems that an agreement is in trouble. Doesn’t this happen every other episode? Well, maybe not that many. Henry tries to make a date with some other parents. Jay talks about how the US doesn’t pay for hostages. Jason, his typical teenage self, doesn’t want there to be embarrassing stories told. Although, would anyone want them told? It seems that the situation in Honduras is getting worse for various reasons. Again, this is so similar to what happens all the time.

In segment three, Elizabeth worries about the situation before learning that private people can pay for it. I don’t know if this is true in the real world. Elizabeth and Henry meet with Piper’s parents. If you don’t remember, Piper is the girlfriend of Jason. Matt meets up with some woman. She looks like she might be familiar, but I don’t know who she is or if we’ve seen her before. Someone shows up at the McCord house and Piper’s parents leave. Apparently, the president of Honduras kidnapped her own people so that she could be seen as the hero.

In segment four, the date of Matt has her ex show up. I’m confused by everything. The people in the US listen to the whole resolved hostage situation. But there are tons of issues related to it still. Should they tell people about what happened? They don’t know what to do.

In segment five, Daisy wants to talk Elizabeth out of the situation that could affect the election that is happening in Honduras. It seems that they won’t have allies there. Matt talks about the date of his that went wrong and how he realized that they were still in love with each other. But he wants to be back with Ronny, the woman he was with at some point somehow sometime that I don’t remember. So he tells her that they should stay together and they kiss. Elizabeth and Henry go back to the house of the parents of Piper and they hang out, it seems.

I don’t have scenes from next time to talk about. I guess that CBS is good with putting this show online, but bad with other shows. I might as well see if there are things that aren’t on there. But I’m glad that I can do a recap for anyone who might have missed the show. I hope that I won’t miss any episodes in the future or that I will be able to see it online like I did with this one. I just hope nothing bad happens. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 4-8-2018

Something that you may or may not know is that this blog has been tied into another blog meaning that it could only be updated after a different blog (my TV blog) was updated. Now this has actually changed somewhat so that the first post of the month doesn’t have to be after the TV blog was posted earlier in the month. But if that becomes the case, that means that the second post of the month will be linked into it instead. So now there might be one or two posts of this blog that relate to another blog. Just know that with the way things have worked out now, it doesn’t have to be linked for now.

March Madness is over and the only team that I had left to root for was eliminated from it. Kansas was eliminated by the eventual tournament winners Villanova. I don’t know if any of the other teams that I would consider to be an anti-team made it far. I guess that I’ll just have to wait and hope that next year’s tournament has a team winning that I want to win. If history is any indication, it will. Then again, it may have nothing to do with it.

The Illinois primary results for governor were disappointing. This places us in a sad state of a lose/lose situation. Incumbent governor Bruce Rauner won the primary against one lone challenger. He has been a terrible governor thus far. I’d feel better about the winner of the Democratic primary, J B Pritzker, if he didn’t just seem like more of the same problem. I’d want to look forward to the 2022 elections, but there’s no point for doing that now since I like my class three senator. I think that the reason that J B won was simply because people knew who he was, unlike the other candidates.

I will or plan to do an updated post on the Illinois election for governor and attorney general. But what went wrong with the state that it seemed like there was no one good on either side of the race? Even the candidate that I was going to vote for, Daniel Biss, wound up having problems and I couldn’t support him. At least Bruce claimed that he wouldn’t run for a third term if he does win a second.

The fucking Masters are on tonight. It’s a tradition more annoying than any other. I just don’t get why it gets to be a thing. At least this is probably hopefully the last time we’ll have to put up with tape delay this season. Or, possibly, the show will start on time like I want it to. I just don’t see it as likely. I would watch it, but there isn’t much of a point to it so I won’t. At least football and basketball have a point. Golf seems to have no point to it at all.

If only there didn’t have to be four minutes of commercials after a sporting event. If that happened, then the show wouldn’t have been delayed. But it wasn’t delayed by much, so that’s good. I don’t think that I will isolate things to tape as a result. But it will be delayed.

Today’s episode is brought to you by ~1 minute delay. We begin with a bombing in what I think is Saudi Arabia. A nuclear deal a la the real one the US has with Iran is brought up. The one senator, I forget his name if I ever knew it, is back again and still causing problems as usual. Has it been a while since we have seen him? I think that it has been. Henry is offered a job, but he doesn’t want it as he wants to keep teaching full time. Conrad and Russell want to wait until after the midterm elections to deal with the problem at hand. But those won’t happen until next season. And that’s provided that next season happens. It should though. Also, Elizabeth is being sued for wrongful death.

In segment two, Elizabeth learns that Conrad was a spy at one point and that she should avoid being served. Henry decides that he does want to be considered for the job. Jason is getting some sort of award of some sort. People who guard Elizabeth think that there is a man trying to shoot him, only he might have just been trying to serve her. This creates a video since a person filmed the events.

In segment three, Joel, who is the lawyer who got injured, winds up serving Elizabeth at Jason’s event. Mike, who is somehow related to Elizabeth’s team or is a family member, worries about the whole thing and gives information that relates back to Carlos, the probably evil senator. Henry does the interview to get a new job while we are left to wonder if the other candidate was buttering up the interviewee. As for Carlos, I don’t know what to make of the situation at hand as he might be helping people that he shouldn’t be.

In segment four, Elizabeth talks some to her lawyer about what to do. She ends up meeting with the family and tells them that their son was a spy and that is why he died in the bombings. Maybe I was wrong about Conrad being a spy. It is hard to keep track of and understand everything about this show. Henry learns that his competition didn’t complete the training he said he did.

In segment five, the lawsuit is dropped, although the family won’t publically admit why because they aren’t able to. Henry talks with his competition about what went wrong and why this person didn’t graduate. Henry gets the job, only to be bothered with trivial stuff like a parking space. Cat learns about a journalist who was captured by Boko Haram that they might be able to help free. Elizabeth might have a good deal with someone about something that, as usual, I didn’t understand.

On the next Madam Secretary, there is a hostage crisis going on. America doesn’t pay to release the hostages. I’m not sure that’s a good idea and I know that’s what really happens. I just hope that I never end up either as a hostage or needing to pay for someone. I can’t imagine the terrible situation that some people are put in. Let’s try not to think about it. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 4-1-2018

It seems that every year without fail, new shows are aired on Easter as if people aren’t busy that day. Although, people tend to be doing more stuff with lunch after church and are probably not busy when it comes to suppertime. NBC is airing Jesus Christ Superstar instead of their usual shows, I’m pretty sure. I only watch Timeless on that network right now. Also, you’d get a way better message from any real church that you would from Jesus Christ Superstar, which gets so much of the story wrong and leaves out the most important part in the end.

As for the other Sunday shows that I watch (besides this one), I’m into all the CBS shows that are on right now (60 Minutes, Instinct, and NCIS: Los Angeles). I’m also into all of the FOX shows that are on right now (Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, and The Last Man on Earth). It’s good for me that NBC isn’t more interesting, but the CW will be adding Sunday programs in the future and they tend to air a lot of good shows that I care about and like.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with something that I don’t quite understand that I’m sure will tie into the events of the later part of the episode. There was some sort of problem with the building that a guy named Pete was in. Only, this seemed like it was a flashback to something that had happened 20 years ago. What? There was an embassy attack of some sort.

Elizabeth wants to do more with it than it seemed that others were wanting. Pete might be a person who survived the bombing. Elizabeth wants to get rid of sanctions. But some people are against it. It seems that the people in Elizabeth’s team wants her to work with a bomb sniffing dog. There seems to be problems with the memorial. It seems that Elizabeth is worried that she might have been partly to blame for the attack happening 20 years ago.

Conrad wants to do a deal that Elizabeth is against. Is it just me, or does this happen a lot in this show? And Elizabeth is normally the right person. This makes me wonder if the show is trying to say that Obama had bad ideas and Hilary Clinton talked him out of them, causing better things to happen.

In segment two, there are problems again with a foreign country again, like nearly every episode of this show tends to do. We then see Matt and Daisy looking for a good bomb sniffing dog for their video. I don’t know if this dog thing is important as it seems that one was rejected but could be adopted later by one of the main characters. Jason seems to have problems with his girlfriend, Piper. Who is Piper? I’m not sure if I remember her at all. I guess that I should read the blog to see what I might have mentioned about it. It might not have even been something that I mentioned even if it did happen.

This one diplomat is Pete. He feels that there are problems and that he wasn’t in there for the right reasons as he was having an affair. Also, he feels that he has been undermined and shouldn’t talk at the memorial thing in question. Conrad wants to go against Elizabeth’s opinion. But there is something that she learns about that she wants to help with.

In segment three, Elizabeth talks to Conrad about how this country has knowingly harbored a known terrorist. Henry wants to make sure that Jason treats people with respect, which he thinks won’t happen the way things are going. Henry wants to make sure that this potential break up goes as planned. I do not understand all of what happened there. At the service, Pete is upset and emotional over what had happened 20 years ago. Matt seems to have problems talking with Daisy. There are more issues with the whole Uganda or Sudan situation and Elizabeth wants to force someone’s hand.

In segment four, Elizabeth is talking to someone online. #takeashot. This dignitary agrees that the one terrorist needs to help with the situation. Henry thinks that he failed at the whole situation with Jason. But Elizabeth won’t stop laughing at it. We then get to the dog shoot. The dog that looked all cute and all that and Daisy decides to adopt it. Or, that’s what she said at least. Conrad talks to Elizabeth about the situation at hand. And it seems that people got the terrorist. This seems like it might be slightly be like what happened to bin Laden, only, without the death part, it seems.

In segment five, it seems that the foreign person (did they even say his name?) was upset over the fact that American people took out people. The sanctions are delayed for a year. It seems that Jason ends up staying with Piper for now. Elizabeth accepts Pete’s resignation that I forgot to tell you about earlier. It seems that he will be doing something more in the future. Elizabeth talks to him about what she thinks was her failure in this, only Pete thinks that she shouldn’t beat herself up over it.

I think that there were scenes from next time, but I think that I missed what they were. Sorry about that. I got a bit distracted. Hopefully I can catch up on some of what I am behind on posting on this blog. I don’t know if there is a primary in Missouri on April 3rd after all. Maybe they are doing more than one. Or maybe there is just some specific, local elections in the St. Louis area. But I think that the main sort of primary will come later. I should mention more of the results of the Illinois primary later. Sorry again about the whole missing the promo thing, although it probably wasn’t much of anything. Sorry again for not paying attention. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
