Madam Secretary Season 2 Review

I have too short a time to do this and am a bit sick by pushing myself too far and still working at the moment in time. But I think that I know what to write about in a short amount of time. I have no idea just how long you will go without seeing a random post like this again. This must get done so I might as well get it done and over with.

Season 2 overview: Starting with a hack on Air Force One, we learn a lot about tensions with Russia that are a plot thread throughout the whole season. But there is more to the story than what is going on since more than just one country is up to something. I was seeing a lot of the show out of order and blogging about it very strangely at the time.

How this season was different from others: This season had more of a role for Conrad for the rest of the series outside of the last one. It didn’t have too much different about it, but I did like the recurring plot elements of it that we would see, some of it largely in this season.

What made it good: It continued some important plot points from the last season while largely doing into its own thing and trending its own way with new plots. We were introduced to Dmitri in this season and he became the most important recurring character on the show. This season also gave us the episode Invasive Species which was different from the rest of the episodes, but a very welcome change from what we normally see.

What made it bad: Too much of it relied on misdirection when we found out that Russia, while still an important player and having quite an important villainy role throughout the whole series, was not one of the main villains behind what was going on, which was a bit abandoned some.

More thoughts on it: If you remember this blog, this was the last season of the show where I did not talk a lot about politics at the time, although it might have been harder to tell that since posts were done out of order and much later than made sense despite normally being complete at the time. But this would be the part where I would lay the groundwork of interweaving current events of the time with the show itself as it went its own way.

There isn’t too much else to say so I will let you go with this last paragraph. I hope to not be too sick when Thanksgiving happens pretty soon and may take sick days from work, especially if they make me. I think that I’m fine (or I wouldn’t go into work), but I’ll see what they think. I hope that you enjoy this blog post as there is a lot more to write for other blogs that I need to make the time for in the next month or so. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Madam Secretary Season 1 Review

In the first of any of these (and there should be another one of these on Monday), I am going to post a review of a whole season of the show as a random post. I have no idea just how few and far between this type of random post might be. Still, I hope that you like it nonetheless.

Season 1 overview: As we learn about the characters in this show, we also delve more into what had happened to the old secretary of state with Elizabeth keeping the old people from it. We never saw much of anything of the old one, not even in flashbacks. But that wasn’t the story being told. We saw some of a recurring storyline with Iran and also saw more of Stevie. She might not have even been part of the story originally as she wasn’t in the pilot. Although, I never really liked much of what they did with her character and she was overused some.

How this season was different from others: We saw less recurring storylines this time around and there was less of Conrad than in any other season save for the final one. He wasn’t even part of the cast yet, although he was clearly recurring. There wasn’t much seen to most of the mains, although we did see Henry a lot, which I liked.

What made it good: It was pretty fun to see the characters develop in a pretty interesting way. We did see a more crisis of the week format with it being more simple than it would later be. I like how we saw some of the family’s adjustments to their mother’s new lives and their own.

What made it bad: It wasn’t as interesting as it could have been starting out. Too much of Stevie’s time on the show was wasted on romantic plots that ultimately went nowhere at the end. We didn’t see much of the main cast outside of just three of the five main family members.

More thoughts on it: This was the only season of the show that I didn’t blog about all of the episodes. I could have started the blog better as in updating it more on time. But that didn’t wind up happening at this point in time. It wouldn’t happen for quite a long time. As for the season of the show itself, I liked it as a starting point. We would see more of the characters later and we didn’t waste too much time with it. I am glad that I started blogging about this show, even if it wound up covering way more than this show ever was about.

That’s about it for this post. I can’t think of what else to say, but still feel a need to do this last paragraph to be a closing of sorts to it. At least you’ll see something in this blog that you might have been missing and haven’t seen in a while. I hope that you enjoyed the first random post of this blog in months. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Cast Update 11-2-2021

There have been disasters in my blogs and there have been really big disasters. You might wonder what I mean by that. Indeed, you might not see anything different in today’s cast update. But that’s the problem. I checked almost none of the people this time since I had no fucking time to work on almost anything in the cast update blogs that I’m wanting to. There is very little new things noted in this post despite any new things that might have happened as this post is incomplete. If you remember, this happened twice when I was doing the final season’s posts of this blog. And it has happened a lot with tons of my other blogs in the cast update stage, just not this one before today.

Here’s a paragraph worth posting in multiple blogs. This is affectively an apology. I have gone a long time in various blogs without doing movie reviews that I would like to get done. I either have not had the time or have not made the time to get them done. Well, it’s going to get even worse. I’m going to be busy throughout most of November and probably won’t have time during weekdays or weekends to see movies then outside of maybe one. During December, I will be focused on watching Christmas specials and movies for a while. I should have time in January, but with posts of these blogs being done early in the year, it could be February until you see some of the movie reviews that should be here. I’m sorry for the long and constant delays. But I thought that I would give you a heads up about this.

Check out my new blog: https://adamdeckercsivegas.blogspot.com/

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that. I don’t know when they finished filming the show, but you’d think that those who are still doing projects will have stuff right now to do (if that makes sense).

Endangered: This is a movie about the lives of threatened species. We’ll see what role she has in it. The website I’m checking makes it seem like she’ll be lending her voice to it so maybe it will be some sort of documentary. The release date is unknown now.

Bebe Neuwirth: She’s had a recurring bit on Blue Bloods and may show up on it from time to time. There are other minor things that she has done. It appears that she will be in a new movie called Julia. She will also be in something new called Teenage Euthanasia. Yet another thing that she will be in will be Ultra City Smiths. I hope to see what I can of this.

Julia: This is a pilot for a show about Julia Child, the chef. We’ll see if anything comes from the pilot in the future or not. It looks like it will this time. But we’ll see if it does or not. The release date is unknown.

Teenage Euthanasia: Considering how the title talks about assisted suicide, one can be a bit unsure how this could turn into a good story. But the plot is more complicated than that and hard to sum up easily. The show is out now. There is a trailer for this:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6T8HAs-5oX4

Thoughts on trailer: So this looks strange, but I was already expecting it. I guess that it is far too grim for even FOX by featuring mature content that not even that network would allow. I’m glad that the trailer explains a lot about the series, but I’m not upset that I’m going to be missing any of this in the end.

Ultra City Smiths: This is a TV show about two people looking for a missing celebrity. Will they find what they are looking for? One can only hope since that’s what the show is about. This is out now. I do not know what network this is on or what time it airs. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2qthWw6NPMA

Thoughts on trailer: This looks weird and I probably would have liked it better if it were live action focusing on a more serious plot. I can’t gather much from the trailer, but there sure are a hell of a lot of people in it. And I guess that’s all that I can make sense of it for now. What else is there to say?

Geoffrey Arend: He will be in a project called Physical, a TV show. I’m glad that he could find something at long last. Hopefully, he’ll do a bunch more things all worth keeping track of in this blog and worth watching as well if I can see them at all. He was in the last season of Goliath, but I will not be going more into that as that is pretty much over now already.

Physical: This is a TV show, but too much about this is unknown at this point in time. It is out now on Apple TV. It also has a trailer that I will be talking some about. It is a very new thing and imdb isn’t revealing much about it now as a result. But we’ll find out more about this over time.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQTFdslwJYo

Thoughts on trailer: I’m not entirely sure what to make of this. It doesn’t seem that bad, but it doesn’t seem anywhere close to good either. It is going for something maybe a bit different, but I can’t really get behind it that much. I was never one for the 80s as I wasn't even born yet and really only get stuff out of it from when I see The Goldbergs. It doesn’t seem all that interesting to me really.

Kathrine Herzer: She hasn’t been doing much since the show ended or now, it seems. Maybe she is going back to a more normal life. Not all the child actors or actresses continue into the field when they get older as they want to do other things in life. Remember the people from Shining Time Station?

Evan Roe: Again, this person has not been doing much after the show ended. I guess it hasn’t been over long enough or a lot of these people just haven’t found a new job yet, at least in the Hollywood industry. You’d think that the filming would have ended long enough ago, but maybe not.

Tim Daly: The time has come to say what this man is finally doing after Madam Secretary as he finally has something new in the works now. He is set to be in The Game, a TV show. That appears to be all that he is in for now.

The Game: This is a TV series about black culture and how it regards to football. It could be good and is a continuation of CW show from a while ago that also aired on BET. This is set to premiere on November 11, 2021 on Paramount+.

Zeljko Ivanek: He is finally set to be in something called Now and Then, which is a TV show. Maybe we’ll see more of his acting in the future or maybe we won’t. But it is nice to know that such a thing will exist or at least could. He is also set to be in The Last Duel, a movie.

Now and Then: This is a TV series about a group of Hispanic friends meeting again years after one of them is found dead. It does not have a release date at the moment. It is set to be on Apple TV+. It could be good, but it doesn’t sound original.

The Last Duel: Set in Medieval times, two people are set to duel to settle a dispute of some sort or another. This is in theaters now so you might be able to see it there if you want to. There is a trailer for this, so let’s talk about this now.

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgygUwPJvYk

Thoughts on trailer: This looks very interesting and could be good, although I’m unsure of what twists could come in what happens. I hope to avoid learning what had happened in this story (although I’m unsure who it is about still) so as to not get spoiled. But I do think that this could be a thought provoking movie and I look forward to it. Maybe I’ll actually see it in theaters * knocks on wood *.

I have not been able to see this movie thus far and don’t know if I’ll be able to see it for quite a while if I do at all. I want to know what happens and why. But I only want to know about it by watching the movie itself someday.

Erich Bergen: He’s also doing nothing yet as of the show ending. How recently did filming wrap? Was it not that long ago? Why is no one that I’m looking up doing anything yet? I don’t get it. Whatever the reason, he has nothing yet and maybe that will change later.

Patina Miller: She is the narrator of a show called Word Party. That’s all that she’s doing for now. I think that she’s a mother so that may affect how much work she’ll be able to do. We’ll see what goes on in her life and I hope she can do something I can watch. She will also be in a project called Power Book III: Raising Kanan. That’s it for now.

Word Party: This is a Netflix kids show that is available now. Patina is the narrator of it. I don’t know much about it. I doubt that I will be able to see it in the future. This show is about teaching others how to talk and learning simple things like that.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan: This is available now. It is a prequel about Kanan Stark, whoever that is. I doubt already that I’ll be able to see it, although I guess that it is possible that I might at some point. I hope to find out more info about this soon, but not much seems to be coming just now. There is a trailer for this now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADzSyRvZul0

Thoughts on trailer: I wish that I could say that this looks original, but it does not. It does not look bad either. But it does look similar to the type of thing that you can see in all sorts of other places. I still have no idea what Power Book is about or other things like it in the end. But this could be good. It just looks generic in some ways.

Wallis Currie-Wood: She has done very little outside of the show. Maybe she will do something more in Hollywood or maybe not. It will be hard to understand some of why I’m not seeing much in terms of what the cast is doing in the future unless or until more time passes.

Keith Carradine: He has two projects in the works. One is called Sallywood. The other one is called The Daylong Brothers. We’ll see what happens between those and anything else that he does. I look forward to hopefully seeing these films at some point in time. Maybe more will happen in the future.

Sallywood: This movie romantic in some way, but I don’t know if it’s a comedy or not. It is about a man who moves to Hollywood and becomes a woman’s personal assistant. They’ll be more to it than that. It has an unknown release date at this time.

The Daylong Brothers: This has an unknown release date at this time. It is about three brothers who try to get revenge on their father for selling their souls. This could be interesting, even if I don’t really like to watch horror films. But this could just be normal supernatural.

Sebastian Arcelus: It looks like he will appear in a TV movie or perhaps potential pilot called Blanco. He’s doing better than others in terms of projects in the works. That is it for now. Maybe there will be more, but I think that’s it for now.

Blanco: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It is about a criminal who seeks to work with the cops only to build his criminal empire. I have no idea what network this would air on, if any. This might be just another in a long line of passed pilots that I get confused about and wind up in this blog for a long time like what you might have seen in my CSI: Cyber blog.

Sara Ramirez: After a long time not doing anything, she is finally set to star in a show called And Just Like That... We’ll see what else she might do in the future beyond that. It could be a lot or not much at all. At the moment, this is it.

And Just Like That...: This is a sequel/reboot of sorts to Sex in the City. It will air on HBO Max at some point in the future. It is currently said to be a mini-series. It has a time frame of airing sometime in 2021. Since I doubt that I will be seeing this, then I doubt that I’ll watch the original at any point.

Kevin Rahm: There isn’t much to talk about for him right now. It doesn’t really say much what he could be doing as his project supposedly isn’t moving forward according to one link with it also saying that it is still in preproduction according to another link. I’m not putting that back in this blog for now until I know for sure that he’s doing it or something else.

Barbara Hall: I will see what future, if any, she might have in the film or movie industry. You’d think that she’d be doing something at some point or another, but maybe she won’t be at least for a while. I guess that I’ll keep her in the updates for now.
