Politics: How the Trump Party Came to be

This will be a new part of this blog for a while. I had wanted to do this earlier when I ran out of topics for one series of posts that I was doing on politics, but then decided to go with something else as I was concerned that I wouldn’t have enough posts on a Trump centric thing and frankly wanted a break from it. Now that I have a free spot for it again, I’m going to include this as a series of posts here. You would have seen something like this once in this blog before and also in my Good Wife blog for a while.

Now let’s get to the name of this post. What do I mean by the Trump party? You wouldn’t think that you would see this in an official way by any means. But to me, it is quite clear that what was once known as the Republican Party is now the Trump Party. Even though it is possible that Trump himself will fade away, he has changed the party too much to the point of it being very unrecognizable from whatever it used to be like.

They even knew and admitted as such as the poison of Trump slowly slipped into the party as a whole. Once he became the nominee, nearly all of them fell in line with Trump. They did not want to lose his supporters even as they wanted to lose him. As they were stuck with him for at least four years with him as president, they forgot their own warning that he would be the end of the Republican Party.

Slowly, the party devolved into madness (as if it wasn’t that already) as anyone who dared to stand up to Trump was quickly ostracized. There were rare moments when people spoke out against Trump, but it was normally for less than a day. They would never call out the problems of his even as their own party suffered.

Soon, if you were NOT defending someone like Kavanaugh who was accused of sexual misconduct, you were a horrible person. You would attack his accuser, trying to destroy her side of the story while wondering why she never came forward sooner. They would ignore any and all of the crimes that Trump was accused of while not giving Democrats any of the same leeway at all in any way. That’s not to say that they should give Democrats leeway when they do wrong. They should just know to attack their own when they deserve it too.

After the capitol riot, 147 Republicans still voted against certifying the election. We see a lot of them still refuse to hold Trump accountable for wrongdoing and those that do vote to impeach Trump then get censored by their own party. They may have Trump voters, but at what cost? A well known saying is this: what good is it for a man to gain the world, but lose his soul? They have lost the soul of their party while becoming the party of Trump. And if Trump isn’t in jail by the time that the Republican primary for president starts in 2024, do they really think that he is just going to step aside and let others run instead of him?

Cast Update 4-6-2021

Just in case that you are not here for every post, know that I plan to do a post of this blog on the first Tuesday of the month. I plan to do a political post every Tuesday this month and then I might only be here once a month for sure. It is hard to know for sure just what all can change, but I do hope that this blog can be as normal as possible. Know that political topics are still addressed on my blogs on The Good Wife and The Good Fight if you don’t find them here.

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that. I don’t know when they finished filming the show, but you’d think that those who are still doing projects will have stuff right now to do (if that makes sense).

Endangered: This is a movie about the lives of threatened species. We’ll see what role she has in it. The website I’m checking makes it seem like she’ll be lending her voice to it so maybe it will be some sort of documentary. The release date is unknown now.

Bebe Neuwirth: She’s had a recurring bit on Blue Bloods and may show up on it from time to time. There are other minor things that she has done. It appears that she will be in a new movie called Julia. She will also be in something new called Teenage Euthanasia. Yet another thing that she will be in will be Ultra City Smiths.

Julia: This is a pilot for a show about Julia Child, the chef. We’ll see if anything comes from the pilot in the future or not. It would have an edge if it was already filmed. The release date is currently unknown for this. Maybe one will never come.

Teenage Euthanasia: Considering how the title talks about assisted suicide, one can be a bit unsure how this could turn into a good story. But the plot is more complicated than that and hard to some up easily. The show is set to air sometime in 2021.

Ultra City Smiths: This is a TV show about two people looking for a missing celebrity. Will they find what they are looking for? One can only hope since that’s what the show is about. This has a release year of 2021. I do not know what network this would air on or what time that it would air.

Geoffrey Arend: There are now two things to note regarding him. One is a project that he will be in called Physical, a TV show. He is also set to be in Justice Society: World War II. I’m glad that he could find something at long last.

Physical: This is a TV show, but too much about this is unknown at this point in time. It has no release date or trailer just yet. It is a very new thing and imdb isn’t revealing much about it now as a result. But we’ll find out more about this over time.

Justice Society: World War II: This is expected for release on April 27, 2021. In this movie, which is probably an adaptation of a comic book, a person comes from the future that changes history in some way for some reason. There is a trailer for it now:

Trailer link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4xXbGFhEFg

Thoughts on trailer: Parts of this look like it could be good. The parts that seem like it could be the biggest problem to me is the animation which looks stilted in some ways and not as natural looking as I would like. Hopefully that wouldn’t be too much of a distraction from the rest of the movie.

Kathrine Herzer: She hasn’t been doing much since the show ended or now, it seems. Maybe she is going back to a more normal life. Not all the child actors or actresses continue into the field when they get older as they want to do other things in life. Remember the people from Shining Time Station?

Evan Roe: Again, this person has not been doing much after the show ended. I guess it hasn’t been over long enough or a lot of these people just haven’t found a new job yet, at least in the Hollywood industry. You’d think that the filming would have ended long enough ago, but maybe not.

Tim Daly: The time has come to say what this man is finally doing after Madam Secretary as he finally has something new in the works now. He is working on a project called The Sixth Reel. I don’t know what it is yet, but at least it is something.

The Sixth Reel: This is a project that I currently don’t know much about right now. Is it a movie, TV show, or something else entirely? I have no idea. It is said to be a comedy of some sort. But is it a movie comedy or a sitcom of some sort? I also don’t know the plot of it just yet. Also, the release date is unknown as well. Yet at least, this is something.

Zeljko Ivanek: He also has no new projects in the works right now, although he could be wanting to retire in the future or something like that. I won’t make assumptions and just wait until the next time I see something potentially in a later post.

Erich Bergen: He’s also doing nothing yet as of the show ending. How recently did filming wrap? Was it not that long ago? Why is no one that I’m looking up doing anything yet? I don’t get it. Whatever the reason, he has nothing yet and maybe that will change later.

Patina Miller: She is the narrator of a show called Word Party. That’s all that she’s doing for now. I think that she’s a mother so that may affect how much work she’ll be able to do. We’ll see what goes on in her life and I hope she can do something I can watch. She will also be in a project called Power Book III: Raising Kanan.

Word Party: This is a Netflix kids show that is available now. Patina is the narrator of it. I don’t know much about it. I doubt that I will be able to see it in the future. This show is about teaching others how to talk and learning simple things like that.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan: This isn’t set to air until 2021. It is a prequel about Kanan Stark, whoever that is. I doubt already that I’ll be able to see it, although I guess that it is possible that I might at some point. I hope to find out more info about this soon.

Wallis Currie-Wood: She has done very little outside of the show. Maybe she will do something more in Hollywood or maybe not. It will be hard to understand some of why I’m not seeing much in terms of what the cast is doing in the future unless or until more time passes.

Keith Carradine: He has two projects in the works. One is called Sallywood. The other one is called The Daylong Brothers. We’ll see what happens between those and anything else that he does. I look forward to hopefully seeing these films at some point in time. He will also be in something called The Power of the Dog. Maybe more will happen in the future.

Sallywood: This movie romantic in some way, but I don’t know if it’s a comedy or not. It is about a man who moves to Hollywood and becomes a woman’s personal assistant. They’ll be more to it than that. It has an unknown release date at this time.

The Daylong Brothers: This has an unknown release date at this time. It is about three brothers who try to get revenge on their father for selling their souls. This could be interesting, even if I don’t really like to watch horror films. But this could just be normal supernatural.

The Power of the Dog: I don’t know why they are making a Trump based movie. Wait, this has nothing to do with politics. It is about sibling rivalry that happens between two men who are brothers when one of them gets married. It is set for release in 2021.

Sebastian Arcelus: It looks like he will appear in a TV movie or perhaps potential pilot called Blanco. He’s doing better than others in terms of projects in the works. He’s also doing a project called Homebound. That is it for now.

Homebound: This is set for release in 2021. It is about a woman searching for her therapy dog as she deals with personal fears or things like that. There is no trailer for this yet or specific release date. It could be good, but I won’t know unless I can see it at some point. It is a short.

Blanco: This has an unknown release date at the moment. It is about a criminal who seeks to work with the cops only to build his criminal empire. I have no idea what network this would air on, if any. This might be just another in a long line of passed pilots that I get confused about and wind up in this blog for a long time like what you might have seen in my CSI: Cyber blog.

Sara Ramirez: Despite not appearing or even being mentioned in the final season of this show, she has not done a thing since leaving this show. The others I can understand as they haven’t been off the show this long, but I want her to do something. And I hope she improves her hairstyle for the future.

Kevin Rahm: While the entire world is crazy right now and pilot season messed up, there still might be hope that he is doing something as I see him in Vegas High, the potential pilot for a TV show. We’ll see what, if anything, comes of it later.

Vegas High: This is a pilot for HBO Max. Whether or not it becomes a series is unknown, but if they already filmed the pilot, it would have an edge on other shows. The plot is about a female torn between her Mormon life and the fast paced life of Las Vegas. The planned project was cancelled by not being picked up to series.

Barbara Hall: I will see what future, if any, she might have in the film or movie industry. You’d think that she’d be doing something at some point or another, but maybe she won’t be at least for a while. I guess that I’ll keep her in the updates for now.

Politics: The Horror of Coronavirus Caused Racism

Well, I didn’t have this post planned for long, but it is much needed and I think that it needs to be addressed in many ways. Too much of this has been overshadowed by other racism that was linked back to the George Floyd protests. But it is worth addressing. People who look like Asians because they are descendants of that as they are Asian Americans or here for some other reason have become victims of hate crimes because of coronavirus. And this post is here to talk about some of that issue.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xenophobia_and_racism_related_to_the_COVID-19_pandemic

Edit: I wasn't sure that I liked the title of this post as it seemed to focus on the wrong name possibly. I will keep it the way that it is now, but might change it more than I have if deemed needed in the end. If you have any issues with it, please let me know in as a respectful way as possible.

There were some flaws with the early news reporting on the pandemic as they kept mentioning China despite an official WHO policy that they should not name pandemics after locations. This was after numerous pandemics of the past that did this. Still, respectable news sources like Time and CNN added the word Chinese to this new virus based on an old one.

Some were corrected, but there was still a sad minority of people who were not calling it coronavirus in the end or adding parts of it that they didn’t need to in its description. The most notorious of these people would undoubtedly have to be Trump. In retaliation, some refer to it as the Trump virus instead of his slurs for it. Just look at all the Republicans who keep getting it.

The Republicans have made coronavirus worse. The xenophobia from the pandemic might be in part due to their blame China narrative. This makes me wish more and more that I could live in one day in a hypothetical world where Hillary Clinton was elected president. I know that she would be blamed for it in that world. They still like blaming her for anything and everything they want to. But I read online that it might be more the fault of the Chinese Community Party than with just general Chinese people that the virus wasn’t as well contained in the beginning. But a post both on whether or not China is a problem or how the GOP failed miserably with handling the pandemic are worth covering in other blogs later.

As for all of the horrible racism, there are some minor changes as to who is affected worldwide as in some people from America would be blamed more for it if they are able to travel to other countries that view ours as getting it wrong.

Now, people were killed at a massage parlor based on the color of their skin. While the shooter tries to blame this on a sex addition, the rest of us see right through his crap. This is what is quite horrible about this world today. One can only hope that justice is served over this hate crime and that people can see and fix what is wrong with this world.

There’s not much else to say in this post. I know that racism can’t be fixed, but we can’t go around blaming a race on a virus that our own country couldn’t control. We shouldn’t let one side blame a country when they have handled coronavirus poorly themselves. And we should not let this racism take over when we can better ourselves and the world by being better people who don’t let other’s races give us reason to hate them.

Cast Update 3-9-2021

There is already a plan (but no posts written yet) for me to sometime do posts of this blog that are random, but don’t cover politics and aren’t cast updates. I might actually try to do non-political Novembers where any post that you see of this blog in November will not cover any politics at all. This is largely due to a movie that I have that is set during the Thanksgiving holiday that I could make at least three blog posts out of. That’s pretty cool if you think about it. But I already missed my chance to cover write any of those posts this year and probably won’t next. But that’s okay.

Here is a paragraph worth putting in multiple blogs. You see, I started putting a calendar in my Survivor blog full of the planned posts of all of my blogs that month. Thus, if you want to know when I plan to post an update for any of my 7 blogs, check out one on an episode of Survivor and it should be near the end of the episode in question. The plan might not happen and does have a lot of unknowns in it over time. But I thought that I would tell you this in case you did not already know of this in the present.

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that. Politics: The Pros and Cons of So Called Court Packing

There is a term that isn’t widely agreed upon as the proper and accepted way of saying it as it is normally just a derogatory way of the other side referring to a way of expanding the Supreme Court beyond its current nine members. It is called that based on an idea that FDR had.

We used to have only six justices on the court as the main number. It was increased all the way up to ten justices at one point, but was largely the same starting around shortly after the Civil War era. There is nothing in the constitution that mandates nine members. Mitch McConnell even got rid of that number under Obama only to not stick with his new norm when it no longer benefitted him a mere four years later.

What are the benefits to expanding the court? Well, we’d hopefully not have to worry that much about the long influence people would have forever if we could put more on them in the future. We also would be able to add more without having to wait until new vacancies. It would be nice to help the court by doing this.

Of course, there are downsides to this as well. If we get rid of norms permanently, then the other side will do whatever they can to abuse the same change. There is a lot of damage that can be done by this all in the name of supposedly fixing damage to the court. If we are able to do this, then what wouldn’t be off limits in the future? Would anything?

It is hard to tell what can or should be done with the Supreme Court in order to fix it. There might be hope in the future for the courts after all. I’d have to wait and see just how the case on the Affordable Care Act turns out to see if it could be good even under the current justices. A lot of this worry over the court might not be over much.

Now I’ve been gone with these political updates for a while and they will be back for at least some of the moment as this one will become the last of the Supreme Court themes for a while. I am also going to post this blog on every other Tuesday for the near future until the first post of this blog is on the first Tuesday of the month. It will then occupy a month of that post before I go back to just at least one post of this blog a month. You’ll find out soon enough what new theme will be replacing the one that I have now. I will be back in the future with more posts.

Cast Update 2-4-2021

A lot can change with this blog over time and we’ll see how that will be over the course of time. It is likely that I keep this up for a while as long as I can devote the time into this without it sucking too much out of the rest of my life. I know that it has been a while since I’ve done a political post, but this is a good thing, actually. Also, I’ve decided that if I’m ever able to do random posts in November of any year, they will not be political. I am hoping that I can get them written in case this ever happens.

Tea Leoni: She will be in a project called Endangered, which will be a movie. There are no other things that I see her in right now besides that.

The release date is currently unknown.

Barbara Hall: I will see what future, if any, she might have in the film or movie industry. You’d think that she’d be doing something at some point or another, but maybe she won’t be at least for a while. I guess that I’ll keep her in the updates for now.

Cast Update 1-7-2021

In both this blog and my one on Elementary, I had people from it and their corresponding projects in cast updates in my CSI: Cyber blog before this show and Elementary ended and I could move those people’s updates here instead. Of course, this meant that since the bulk of what is written about in the CSI: Cyber blog is in a different font than most of the other blogs, that other font would linger until that person and all of their projects of the time could be changed with some new detail. Well, it has finally happened to this blog where the one last thing in the old font is finally in this blog’s font. That took a while. But I still have to wait until that happens in the blog about Elementary. I plan to do something about it by other means if I can in the future.

It appears that she will be in a new movie called Modern Persuasion. Another thing she is appearing in is Julia. She will also be in something new called Teenage Euthanasia.

Modern Persuasion: This movie appears to be out now. The plot is about a woman’s ex-boyfriend hiring her company which forces her to deal with various things in her life. I don’t know yet what role Bebe will play in this. I will be removing this from future updates since I can’t find out any more about it.

Geoffrey Arend: He hasn’t really been doing that much yet. Maybe he will later. I guess we’ll see what will become of his career. Maybe there will be something in the future. I can only hope so. Until then, just wait to see what happens.
