Episode from 11-15-2015

You know, were it not for a dream about me having a blog about this show and an OCD habit of mine, I might have never created this blog. Then I created one about The Good Wife and will create one about CSI: Cyber because of tape delay. Meanwhile, I might create a blog about Bob’s Burgers in the future due to a dream about having a blog about it.

Here’s a paragraph that I felt was worth posting in multiple blogs. On the 13^th of November (which was incidentally a Friday for all you superstitious people) a bad event happened. There were terrorist bombings in France. The news talked about how this could affect football games over the weekend. It could also potentially affect various programs on TV. While it doesn’t matter in the long run if shows are affected due to current events, I will keep an eye out for potential changes in these blogs.

Will sports be affected? While I’m still hoping for a lack of a delay in the future, this is not the reason why I want there to be no delay. I don’t like it when things cut into programming that I watch, but I hate terrorist attacks way more than that. I doubt that they would have canceled any of the football games in America. There was probably heighted security, but if we cancel things than the terrorist have won. Actually, they already won by having their attacks be successful. I’ll be sure to check to see whether or not there is football or some other type of delay for this episode or any in the near future.

I check my secondary CBS affiliate. They are airing a doubleheader on CBS today. But are both of my affiliates airing the same game? We’ll see. I was unable to see any of the game at the moment, but I believe that Denver is one of the teams. So they are still airing sports. I don’t know if I’ll watch any of 60 Minutes tonight to try to get more information that they might have about the terrorist attack. I’ve already gotten plenty of information about it.

I check my FOX affiliate and they are showing football. The Raiders are one of the teams playing. Unlike CBS, I can never tell who the teams are at what the score is without a hi-def TV. Honestly, the only reason I’d get one of those at the moment is so that I can get and use a blue-ray VCR combo player with it. And I wouldn’t even be using that for any blue-ray reasons. The Raiders are playing the Vikings. The game here is expected to end at 6, although if it doesn’t, then they’ll probably just preempt the planned Simpsons rerun. I might have to find the score by looking at the crawl on the screen of the CBS game or games. I should look at that, but I’ll wait until a commercial for now.

I check my primary CBS affiliate and they are airing a game against the Denver Broncos and the team from Kansas City. The Broncos are being shut out at the moment, meaning that the team from Kansas City is winning. Both CBS affiliates of mine are airing the same game.

I miss a lot of both games as I do other stuff around the house. I finally think that I caught the score. The Vikings are winning the FOX game, I think. Meanwhile, on CBS, the Kansas City team has scored more points at the Broncos still have none. I forget what teams besides Denver’s have reputations for being bad teams. I doubt already that this game will end on time, unless they cut off the game in my region, which could happen due to a shutout. It’s nearly six and we are still in the 3^rd quarter.

The crawl on CBS shows that the Vikings are winning the game against the Raiders on FOX. I don’t know if that game is over just yet. I really hope that they don’t show all of this game on CBS. Although, things may work out well for me if CSI: Cyber is preempted entirely. Of course, I’m starting a blog about it either way. But this game is certainly running very slowly. And one of the teams hasn’t even scored a point. Will they? I don’t think that they can turn things around this game.

They are still airing the game on FOX, meaning that it isn’t over just yet. According to the epg, I have seen this Simpsons episode. I’m getting a bit bored with the game on CBS, but I also need to see if I can get the tape delay right by seeing the end of the game. Although, I doubt that I’ll see the end of it. I’ll just have to check to see what the score is whenever I can. Hopefully I can catch when the game is over and when Madam Secretary starts.

I finally learn that the team from Kansas City is called the Chiefs. They are the team that is winning by a lot. I’m not sure of the FOX game at all. I think that the Vikings are still winning, but things could possibly change. Plus, the schedule could get messed up if the game cuts into Bob’s Burgers. Meanwhile, I have never once understood what the OT stands for. It airs after sports games on FOX but I don’t know what it means. Does it mean anything at all?

Honestly, I’m probably more interested in football than I think that I am. While the only football game that I might have seen from start to finish was the Super Bowl and it’s unlikely that I’ll ever watch a whole game from start to finish, it is the end of the game that is surely very interesting. And that’s coming from someone who has never seen a game turn around at the end.

The game must have ended on FOX since they are getting to The Simpsons. They aren’t going to show a whole episode. They are going to do the intro, then more commercials (after following commercials that happened after the game) and then they’ll cut into where the show should be. I will check the crawl on CBS to confirm which team did win the game. Now why are they airing a Christmas episode of Bob’s Burgers already? Are they that convinced already that there will not be time to air it during December? Do they have to air the episodes in a predetermined order? While nice when things air in order, you wouldn’t think that it would affect a show like Bob’s Burgers to air it out of order.

Now that I’m done talking about Madam Secretary (get it? Out of order? Never mind). In all seriousness, the game on CBS is still going on. Other CBS games are going on other networks which is evident by the fact that one of mine just switched to a Patriots versus Giants game. They must be switching to a more interesting game. My other CBS affiliate has switched games as well. The Patriots are just barely winning this game. It is almost over unless there is overtime. I still don’t know if the other game that they were showing will affect CSI: Cyber and possibly preempt it. I will admit that this game is far more interesting and doubt that either affiliate of mine will return to the Chiefs/Broncos game. In a way, I feel sorry for the two affiliates that will have to show the whole game. But will they be the only ones?

I apologize to anyone by all this football talk that I’m doing. If you are interested in just the Madam Secretary part of this post, then you should know where to start. I should really include the sentence, “But enough of my ramblings” that I use in my primary blog (that I actually created second and care about more than any other blog). I switch to Bob’s Burgers in the meantime.

The score is unchanged on CBS with the Patriots still barely winning. It appears that the Chiefs are more than likely the de facto winner of their game against the Broncos as I really don’t see how they can turn things around. Meanwhile, I’m guessing that the Vikings won their game against the Raiders, although I probably don’t care enough to check the score.

Looking at the CBS game again, it looks like the Giants have turned things around and are now winning. There is not much time left on the clock. Will the Giants win? Boy it’s getting down to the wire. It could be either team winning that game. I ultimately don’t know which team won after the game ended. Sorry about that. But I have to get to my Sunday shows.

I realize that this is part of my delayed posts with old VHS episodes. Well, I honestly don’t know the order that I’m posting things in as I have yet to post any of this season’s episodes on my blog just yet. But I will. And you’ll see this at some point. I googled the scores of the football games today and found out that the Vikings did in fact win. I’m not surprised to learn that the Chiefs beat the Broncos, but I am surprised that the Broncos got as many points as they did. Meanwhile, the close game that I missed the ending of has the Patriots winning. Their last ditch efforts to win must have worked.

Today’s episode is brought to you by 56 minute delay. We begin with police and black people having an issue in the past. People are ready to welcome Cubans into America. They open an embassy for it. Alison was in a car accident.

In segment two, people talk about the various events going on. People are trying to track the potential votes.  They are trying to lift the embargo on Cuba. There’s a lot of political talk going on as they work to restore relations with Cuba. Alison doesn’t want to go to Cuba with her father. They keep going to different people to talk about potential votes. I’m still wondering what the first part has to do with it, but it is probably related to the murder they are talking about that could potentially affect the Cuba vote that’s in the future.

In segment three, they discuss the prisoner that they want transferred here. There are constantly family issues with the McCords before this trip to Cuba. Elizabeth talks with a person about the upcoming vote. She’s still encountering problems.

In segment four, more things are discussed as Elizabeth talks to a person who relates to the case from earlier. She wants the person to turn herself in. Henry gets annoyed by Alison’s social media use. Nadine fake cries her way into information. Henry opens up to Alison about the death of his student.

In segment five, Elizabeth goes over the speech she is going to say. They bring in two people who lowered the flag the last time the Cuban embassy was used. They will begin a new chapter with Cuba. Was the issue resolved with the person they wanted arrested? It looked like she might get a new trial. This was a pretty interesting episode for me to get caught up on since it doesn’t relate to those that I’ve seen after it but I get caught up on the episode regardless. It looks like the person they wanted is now back in the US. She has supporters wanting her freed. Then there was a confusing ending to this episode. Does that make sense?

On the next Madam Secretary, there’s a cyber war with Russia going on. It’s hard to tell for sure what is going on. I do have one other old episode to watch on VHS right now. Maybe it contains more information. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off. 

Episode from 1-31-2016

A reason that I’m not changing the list on what shows on DVD (or VHS tapes) that I’m watching is largely due to getting backlogged on the shows I recorded on VHS tape. Of course, you know that I’m a procrastinator due to the fact that I still haven’t published October episodes as of the writing of this post which will probably be posted in the summer, but might not be added until even later than that. I will be catching up on the tapes from this season’s TV shows. Remember Minority Report? I still have episodes of that recorded even though the show is cancelled (but don’t count on FOX owning up to it until the upfronts in May).

When I have six or more tapes ready to watch, then I must wait to roll from the list until I’m down to five tapes or less. (Meanwhile, the concern of being a TV junkie pops up. Each tape contains about six hours worth of show and just four of them can total to around a full twenty-four hours worth of television. I tend to only use tapes when I’m watching one show and recording a second on my laptop. Thankfully, I don’t binge-watch shows which is probably how I get so behind on stuff.)

Well, it turns out that the list is changing after all. I finished watching the VeggieTales on VHS. Well, I actually still have one left to watch, but it’s an Easter one so I’ll watch it on Easter Monday, probably. After I watch it, I’ll probably put the DVDs back as an option. Meanwhile, I am replacing that with The Muppet Show season 1 that I have on DVD from my other list now on this list.

Well, all shows are going to end regardless of if they are actually cancelled or not. But, I will create a blog about any show after this one if the right delay happens. And if it happens again, I’ll do the show on after this one, that being CSI: Cyber. This means, basically, as long as this show (or any CBS show that I blog about) is on Sundays at either 7 or 8 Central, I will potentially be creating a blog about the shows on after it. Thus, I create a blog about CSI: Cyber. If there are ever any new shows in the franchise, I’ll probably create blogs about them too. But we'll have to wait and see if that ever happens or not.

I am liking the end of football season since news will now be on before 6 Central time. Well, there’s still the Super Bowl on CBS next week. I won’t watch it, but I will see what’s on after it as they typically air something good after the Super Bowl (typically, but sadly not always.) Now I’m not going to be lead into a false sense of security. I know that there will still be tape delay in the future due tennis, basketball, and golf. There might be more possibilities as well. Likewise, you’ll be seeing a whole lot less tape delay in the future until the summer. If things go right, I’ll be back with new episodes of this show next season. Meanwhile, I should get to today’s episode.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin with Alison looking at colleges. She mentions going out of state. Washington DC isn’t in a state. Or do they live in a state, somehow? Jason is mad at his father. You know, he has a bit of an attitude problem. I’m surprised that this isn’t more addressed in the show. Plus, it is interesting how the Blowies (where users vote for the worst of TV) nominated Alison as worst child instead of him. The McCords visit family for some reason. I missed some of what is going on. I’m live blogging this and all other Sunday shows today. Henry’s father died and that is why they are visiting family: to attend this person’s funeral. The death has been ruled a suicide.

In segment two, it is revealed that the McCord family is Catholic, or Henry’s father is at least. I don’t believe that suicide would be unforgiveable, but I also would hope that nobody would do it regardless of their faith. The death being a central part to this episode makes me wonder if we won’t see an international crisis for a change. Sometimes I like it when shows do something a little bit differently. While Family Guy was out of its element with its episode And Then There Were Fewer, but it is still one of my favorite episodes of that show. Jason looks through the computer of his grandfather. The grandfather was being swindled. This may have lead to his suicide.

In segment three, people talk more about the recent developments that we know of with the death. There are fights about it. We then see some of what Elizabeth’s team is up to since they have to keep them in the episode somehow. Something happens with redacted information. I’d make some sort of joke about it, but I’m not sure how that would work in this blog. Marie is constantly mad and irritated at her brother Henry. She sure is a mean bitch, isn’t she? But Henry is thinking what she is thinking in some ways. But Elizabeth helps him heal.

In the next segment, Henry talks about his father Patrick at Patrick’s funeral. His speech seems a bit disjointed, but it is pretty good in the end. I like this episode a lot. I will remember it as one of the better ones of this show. Madam Secretary typically has good episodes, but this one was even better than the usual. The talk about a senator who died is brought up in this episode, probably as a set up for future episodes. The talk about the president needing a second term makes me wonder if we’ll see some of that in the future. I hope that we do and that they do a good job with the storyline. It should be the focus of this and the potential next season. There are no scenes from next time, so we’ll be back whenever with the next episode. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 11-8-2015

I’m sorry that you won’t be seeing my post about last week’s episode for a while. There were issues with my TV tuner. It made the perfectly good channel come in all glitchy so I recorded it on VHS. This means that I’m now two episodes off with the Good Wife blog of mine until I get caught up on tapes. Meanwhile, I’ll be creating a new blog in the future (or past, since it can be awhile before you see updates here) about the show CSI: Cyber and I have no idea just how disconnected these blog posts will be with each other. I’ll never know when I’ll update any of them, except for my Survivor blog which remains updated every Wednesday (typically, at least).

My TV show watching has been affected by me adding a second list of shows to watch and alternating between the two lists. This is mainly so I can watch Survivor: Palau on DVD and update my TV blog every time I roll and watch an episode of that. Seems interesting that watching a Survivor episode would cause me to update my TV blog, but that’s the kind of weird person that I am. Anyways, you may be interesting in knowing that I will still move what shows I can from the newer list to that list. This means that once Survivor: Palau is on the older list, I will get rid of the newer list until I start watching another Survivor season on DVD again.

Meanwhile, you might be wondering about what Thanksgiving episodes I’ll have to watch. If I can get the right shows watched beforehand, I will want to see the first season Thanksgiving episode of 8 Simple Rules. They did a Thanksgiving episode every season. Meanwhile, I’ll also have to watch the season 7 NCIS Thanksgiving episode sometime this month. I will not have to roll for it. I’ll just have to watch it at my earliest convince. I think that season was the first time they did a Thanksgiving episode on NCIS. But I’m not entirely sure about that. I did watch the episode and will wait to watch the Christmas episode right after before adding it back to the list.

I tune into my FOX affiliate and see that they aren’t showing football so this won’t affect shows on their network at all. My ABC affiliate is coming in. Hopefully this will stay coming in and won’t affect my shows at all.  Now with a football doubleheader today, I tune into my primary CBS affiliate and they are on commercials right now. I check my secondary CBS affiliate and they are also on commercial. The game is between the Broncos and the Colts. Or, at least I think the team from Denver is the Broncos. The epg says that shows will be half an hour behind today. But, will it be just half an hour or will it last longer? The Colts are winning. It appears that both of my CBS affiliates are showing the same game. Meanwhile, Christmas commercials have started and I have to add them to my list as it isn’t December just yet.

The scores changes so that the score is tied as it was before the Colts got ahead. I watch a Simpsons rerun in the meantime. I check back the time of the game again and the score is still tied. The score changes and this puts the Colts in the lead again. I switch back to the Simpsons. The Colts are still winning when I check the score again.

I have the feeling that the game will last longer than 6:30 Central. Remember, the game would actually have to end at 6:26 or sooner in order for the delay to be exactly half an hour behind because they have to air four minutes of commercials after the game finishes for some odd reason.

The Simpsons ends and I will probably watch what I can of Bob’s Burgers. I still don’t know if I’m ever going to create a blog about that show or not. What I do know is that it is one of the few shows that’s already renewed for next season. Meanwhile, I will have to create at least 25 posts of my CSI: Cyber blog before that can happen. And I haven’t started that blog yet, although I will. I don’t know if the episode from tonight will be blogged about yet.

The game has ended on CBS. I’m guessing that the Colts won, although I haven’t seen the final score just yet. Meanwhile, I’ll have to figure out what shows to record on what mediums since shows are a bit off of the planned delay. I just want to make sure that at least CSI: Cyber is on tape so I can blog about that episode later. Today’s episode will be on the laptop as that was my best option this time. Also, I’ll be sure to post updates on TV shows on DVD that I’m watching when/if there is something to update you about it.

Today’s episode is brought to you by 36 minute delay. We begin with a video of a person being killed. The killer wants to get rid of all American aid workers in this country that he’s in. We also see more of the Russian kid whose name I can’t remember.

In segment two, Elizabeth’s brother comes to visit. He is here because of the international crisis. It seems like every episode has an international crisis. I guess they have to, but that doesn’t happen in real life. It’s hard to sum up most of what happens.

In segment three, there is more between Elizabeth and her brother. They go fishing using strange poles. Henry also deals with more relating to his Russian students. The one named Ivan is possibly gay and he wants to avoid problems that it might cause. Can you really kill someone for being gay in Russia? While some people may find this country to not like gays, at least we don’t kill people for being that way. Ivan decides to commit suicide.

In segment four, Henry deals with more of the Russian students of his. They are able to track down the ISIS terrorist who was responsible for killing the American. Many people gather in the situation room and watch the situation unfold.

In segment five, while Elizabeth wants to try to capture this terrorist, the orders are given to take it out. Jason has a strange reaction to it. He gets all excited. Elizabeth talks more to her brother about what has happened. There’s not much to say here.

On the next Madam Secretary, there is a former racial crisis being brought to light again. You do have to wonder if sometimes they overuse current events in TV shows episodes. I guess as long as they do it well it is fine, but it’s hard to tell for sure why they do this so much. Of course, if I had a show, I’d probably use current events in it. Well, they were at least once current events. But that’s enough of that. For now, this is Adam Decker signing off.

Episode from 1-17-2016

You may notice in my blog that I talk about the football games on before the show starts. You might be wondering which football team I root for. While I do root for a team, I haven’t said what it was because it would reveal things about me. Incidentally, they have not played a game close to six since their season started in the fall. Well, I live around the Illinois side of the St. Louis area. I root for various St. Louis sports teams more often than not. That means that I would root for the Rams. Now the Rams are leaving St. Louis for LA. This leaves me wondering something: should I still root for the Rams? Just because they are leaving doesn’t mean that I should automatically stop rooting for them. Besides, I don’t have a back up team. I’m not rooting for the Bears. I hate Chicago.

This makes me wonder, should I be a free agent? Which team would I root for? I think that I should just continue rooting for the Rams. If I want to find some other team to root for, I will. But I don’t know how. I mean, of all the football teams, who would I want to root for? I’m not sure that I feel strongly any way. If you want to know me as a free agent, then wait until March Madness happens. I would have a team for March Madness, but my alma mater is almost never in the tournament so there’s no one for me to root for. Or is there? I can tell you later how my back up team pleased me by winning the tournament. Since I don’t know how to find a replacement football team to root for, I might as well just stick with the Rams. Besides, I might move to LA myself. I would like to become a writer.

You might be wondering why I haven’t updated you on the TV show watching that I’m doing with shows on DVD. The last update I had on that was when I removed Moonlight from the list. After that happened, I haven’t changed the list in any way and am still watching the same things. I even have to wait to get caught up some on the tapes that I’m watching of recorded shows. I really hope that I can continue with the list and change it more. Don’t be surprised if I end up talking about it in two different blogs. That might be a plan for the future. But will it happen? That I don’t know yet.

I flip to my primary CBS affiliate and there is a game of Pittsburg versus the Broncos. This is a play-off game and it is expected to last until 7. Hopefully, it won’t last any longer than that. Pittsburg (are they the Steelers?) is winning the game. I check FOX and they are airing the movie Vantage Point. I guess they are done with football this season. My secondary CBS affiliate is airing the same game. I guess it is whatever postseason game that they typically always air. This will create a planned delay of CBS primetime this Sunday (which, if we are lucky, will only be an hour and not longer) and I wonder if this always happens once a year and I’ve never paid attention to it before. No CSI: Cyber this week, but I will share the link to that new blog in the near future.

Announcers prove that the team from Pittsburg is in fact the Steelers. They are still winning the game, but the Broncos are closing the gap. I saw some of the game between the Packers and the Cardinals last night. I had to record SNL or I’d risk missing church. (I was late a bit for church anyways, but I doubt I would have made it at all watching the whole show live.) The Cardinals won that game. I don’t know if I might root for any of the teams in the championship. I might just root for the Steelers in the future, but I could wind up rooting for any team. I’m kind of a free agent, if I don’t keep rooting for the Rams. If the Steelers don’t end up winning this game, well, then I’m still not sure who I’d root for, although I’m not sure if I’d change even if they do win.

Since FOX shows are airing on time, I’m going to watch them instead of the game. I will check the game on the score from time to time. I will google it if I miss who wins (although I might just make an assumption. But, this time I would know who won and lost in the future as it isn’t a regular season game.) A rerun of The Simpsons is on first. I wonder if they’ll put The Last Man on Earth at 6. They might, but I’m not sure if they air anything at that time.

The score is somehow unchanged as I keep looking back at it. Normally I see the score change. Typically, though, the score changing doesn’t affect who is winning. And I typically only root for the winning team because that means the game will end. The score has it so that only one single point separates the winner from the loser. So will the winning team change?

I missed a lot of the game as when I check the score again, the Broncos are now winning by a lot. Time is running out and I don’t think that the Steelers are actually going to win this time. I don’t know who I should be rooting for now.

Well, to make a long story short, the Broncos won the game. I hope that shows are starting on time. They mentioned a post game show, which could throw the schedule off. But is it just for the West Coast? Or will it be brief?

Today’s episode is brought to you by 62 minute delay (tape delay made it just a bit longer than was planned). We begin with neighbor problems for the McCords as one of their neighbors has a complaint about them. You know, this is the type of thing that should have been more important before this episode. Anyhoo, once again Elisabeth is on her way to solve an international crisis.

In segment two, we learn that this diplomatic ambassador in this country I’ve actually never heard of is relieved of his position by Elisabeth. But does he accept this? Well, things get very interesting when he takes the president of this country hostage.

In segment three, the crisis unfolds, even though we don’t see it from the inside. Elizabeth wonders what this has to do with Buddhism. She can’t learn anything about it to know what to do. Meanwhile, a brunch with neighbors that the McCords have planned start happening.

In segment four, Henry and that one assistant that I think is named Blake talk to the neighbors about the positive effects of having them as neighbors, but not everything goes well. Meanwhile, it is hard to tell what is going on in the crisis in that one country that I don’t even know what continent it is on. I just know that it’s not North America or South America due to the time change they mentioned and it isn’t Australia either.

In segment five, we see more of Nadine and her son. I can’t tell what all happened between them and I don’t know if we’ll see more of them or not. The McCords are able to stop the need for the car outside their house to be running all the time. The man responsible for the foreign president being held hostage is dead, apparently, and it seems like he might have helped others in terms of advice. There are no scenes from next time, so I don’t know when we’ll be back with new episodes. Until this, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 11-1-2015

Well, I hope that the time change helped me with sleep. You might not know or care but I have insomnia at times. It typically doesn’t affect my life that much, although it can make me tired at all times throughout the day except for when I’m lying in bed trying to sleep. I typically use weekends to catch up on sleep, but this doesn’t always work.

I check my primary CBS affiliate and they are not airing football tonight by the looks of it. I check my secondary CBS affiliate and they are airing a football game. The Raiders are playing the Jets. The Raiders are winning by a lot. You can bet that this game will be shown to its completion. I check my FOX affiliate and they are showing football. I wonder if this might cut into the fifth game of the World Series tonight. At least I don’t have to worry about missing new FOX shows since there won’t be any tonight. I typically watch The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, and the Last Man on Earth. There are times that I watch Bob’s Burgers, although I don’t always watch that. I will be watching the ABC shows Quantico and Once Upon a Time, provided that ABC comes in where I live.

Now the game on FOX has the Seahawks playing the team from Dallas. I think that the Seahawks are just barely winning. I then check ABC and it is coming in. Yay! Hopefully it will stay a good reception when the shows I watch are on. There are no changes in the games that I know of as I continue to watch them. I’ll let you know who ends up winning them. I don’t know what they would do if the football game on FOX isn’t over by 7, when the baseball game is about to start. Maybe if they had known for sure that there would be a World Series game on Sunday, then they wouldn’t have aired football that day at all. But, I’m sure that things will work out in the end. I’m not sure what I’m worried about yet.

The Raiders are still winning their game on one of my CBS affiliates. It looks like their region is likely to show shows on tape delay today. But my other CBS affiliate will be airing shows on time. This means that I must start a new blog about CSI: Cyber once it airs at its normal time on both affiliates. I can only do this for sure when I know that shows are different. If you are interested in this, don’t be worried. I’ll be sure to share the link here when I create it. In fact, if you are reading this, I might have already created this blog.

Well, 60 Minutes has started on time on my primary CBS affiliate. The football game is still on my other CBS affiliate. Also, I’ve decided that this new blog of mine will just be about CSI: Cyber and not be about the rest of the CSI franchise unless a new or existing show is connected to it. I cannot tell the progress of the Cowboy/Seahawks game on FOX so I don’t know who is winning. I wonder if I should create this new document right now. I probably will.

I am glued to the long segments of the on-time 60 Minutes, so I’m unable to get an update on the scores of either football games that are on the air. I’ll probably check the scores online, just to be sure. Remember that I will not be blogging about tonight’s CSI: Cyber episode. And I’ll probably have to create the blog link without the colon. Oh well. That’s not the baddest type of grammar out there. I’ll be well at it when I can. Get it? The final score of the game on my other CBS affiliate has the Raiders winning as I expected. The Seahawks are still winning the game on FOX, although the score has changed.

I’m not sure if I’ll be able to tell what the delay on the other CBS affiliate is. Maybe I will just ignore it. But, I’ll see if I can figure it out. It shouldn’t be too hard to figure out, right? We’ll see if I mention it or not. I’m sorry that there are some people who had to put up with a delay this week.

The Seahawks won the game on FOX. So all I have to do is figure out at some point how long the delay is on the CBS affiliate that I’m not watching. Meanwhile, I should probably get to the actual point of this blog post pretty soon.

Unfortunately, I had issues with the recording of the show on my laptop. The program was far too glitchy. I have no idea why this problem happened. So, I will have to watch the beginning of the episode online and see the rest of the episode on the VHS that I recorded. Also, glitchy should be a word, Word. A lot of the words I use should be. This will further make this and my Good Wife blog off of each other. But, the new blog that I’ll make is certain to cause problems as well.

Today’s episode is brought to you by either 17 minute or no delay. We begin with some more Russian politics in the show. Alison has joined her school’s newspaper. Henry is still talking to the Russian student to figure out something of some sort or another. I’m not sure that I’ll care about this first act as much this time. The fate of Ukraine is in the hands of Elizabeth. Also, how many works of fiction are about preventing World War 3? I should google that sometime.

In segment two, people in Elizabeth’s office talk to people about things. The Russian guy, Demitri, is working undercover with Henry. Matt talks to someone about how they should act on something instead of wishing that they had when they hadn’t. Or, at least, I think it was Matt.

In segment three, Alison is mad at her mother because Elizabeth doesn’t pay that much attention to her. Stevie confirms this when Elizabeth talks to her about this. So Elizabeth then talks to Alison about how she is cherished. A bunch of dramatic stuff happens that is hard to understand. Someone of somewhat importance has died. Elizabeth is wondering how to be a better mother. We then get to the plane crash of the Ukraine plane. I remember this from future episodes I’ve already seen.

On the next Madam Secretary, the brother of Elizabeth is disobeying an order to evacuate. Of course, I’ve already seen that episode. I’ll be sure to post about it later. There’s not much else to say. I just hope that I can get caught up on the other two episodes that I have on VHS. At the slow pace at which I post these blogs, you have to wonder why it would even be a problem. Episode from 1-10-2016

Remember when I had posted an episode out of order because it related to Christmas? Well, this meant that I could wind up posting episodes after it before I got back to the ones in the right order. Now typically I write a post and wait to publish it but leave it largely unedited from the time frame I wrote it. You should see the rest of last year's episodes over time. It all depends on what happens. But since this episode had some Christmas stuff in it as well, I might as well get to publishing it, even if it is now March.

During December, I didn’t watch any of the shows from my list of shows to watch on DVD and mediums close to it. Since the New Year has started, I will be able to get back to watching them. Now some of what I have to catch up on is recorded episodes of this show, Madam Secretary. I will probably have to abandon the list at some point and just get caught up on old tapes. If you need a refresher, the main lists of shows that I’m watching, besides the stuff on VHS, is VeggieTales VHS, Thomas the Tank Engine, Farscape, The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (recorded episodes on a VHS tape), and 8 Simple Rules. There is actually another list at the moment that I’m slowly trying to move over to this one. As soon as the right show from it can be transferred, I’ll basically get rid of that list. I’ll let you know when that happens, if it does at all.

When it comes to this show airing again, I don’t know when it or any of the Sunday CBS shows will return to the air. I know that the ABC shows that I watch are on hiatus for now. I also know that FOX has changed up its Sunday schedule. The Last Man on Earth is gone and we don’t know when it is coming back. Brooklyn Nine-Nine is moved now to Tuesdays where I’m not sure that I’ll be able to watch it. Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life and Bordertown are now the shows that are airing. Now, it is possible that I would give up the Simpsons if the first show is bad and Family Guy if the second show is bad. Both shows would be given up for pretty much the same reason: jumping the shark. With the Simpsons, they run out of enough material in a single episode at times. And Family Guy has had terrible episodes recently. We’ll see what happens because if CBS shows on Sunday are gone for a while, then I’m pretty much stuck with them except for if NBC airs good primetime on that night.

The Golden Globes air tonight. Now I never understand why they always air new programming against the Golden Globes. Maybe it is because it airs too soon into the New Year. But other award shows don’t have counterprogramming. I mean, nobody schedules new shows against The Super Bowl, The Oscars, The Emmys, The Grammies, The Tonys, or other shows like that that I know of at least. Typically, there are reruns on other channels when award shows are on, except for the Golden Globes Awards, which I never understand.

I will be watching The Golden Globes, so don’t expect that much of an update on sports. I could tell that there was a game on FOX between the Packers and the Redskins. I couldn’t tell who was winning since I can never tell the score on FOX. Meanwhile, neither CBS affiliate of mine is airing sports this week. Cue the Hallelujah Chorus! I can finally start my blog about CSI: Cyber. Today’s episode will be the first episode that I blog about, although there are two other older ones that I will also blog about in the future. I’m not going to watch or record FOX shows tonight. I don’t care about ABC shows and since I watch all of the CBS shows (but not always 60 Minutes), I will record them since I blog about all three now. I don’t know what future blogs I might create. It’s possible that I do one on Bob’s Burgers, but I don’t know yet if I will or not.

There’s not much that I can tell about the sports game. They mentioned only being on its third quarter. I wonder what delayed the game so much. I read that Bob’s Burgers was supposed to start again tonight. If it was, it isn’t now. I mean, the EPG has the OT instead of Bob’s Burgers. I’m wondering if their shows will even start on time. It would be interesting if it is on tape delay. That typically doesn’t happen on FOX, although it has on rare occasions.

There’s an episode on my laptop recorded off of the TV tuner that is corrupt. This is one of the problems with using that method. All goes well with the recording, but when you try to play it back again, nothing loads. If things go well enough, then you can delete it instantly. If it doesn’t, you have to find alternate ways on deleting it and those methods don’t always work. But problems with the TV tuner is why I have two episodes of this show on VHS when it could have and should have been on my laptop instead. At least I knew of the problem in advance and was able to record on VHS. Otherwise, I would have had to watch it online, which I don’t like doing.

I watch more of the game on FOX. I still can’t tell who is winning or if there’s a tie. I also don’t know how much game is left for them on the clock. I doubt that I’ll tell much about it. I’ll probably just look up the score later online. Also, are we in postseason football now? Are the only games that are on between those potentially going to the playoffs?

The game delayed primetime on FOX as I thought that it would. I will add the score soon. Meanwhile, I should just focus on the blog at hand, but won’t until the next paragraph. The Packers won the game that delayed primetime on FOX. I don’t know what I would have done during a normal week when The Golden Globes aren’t on the air. I might have live blogged CBS Sundays and isolated FOX shows to a VHS, which I like doing when there is tape delay that messes things up. But I just ignored FOX shows entirely this time. I still don’t know my opinions on two of their shows so maybe it is good that I missed things. We’ll see what happens in the future.

Today’s episode is brought to you by no delay. We begin where we left off in the previous episode that I posted a while back. The bomb or whatever thing has killed the Russian president whose name I can’t remember. The US president and Elizabeth are okay. Henry is trying to help his spy friend get out of Russia and he wins would in Sweden for some odd reason. I’ve never been to Stockholm, but I hear that it’s captivating. Alison will get kicked out of her school unless her parents are able to do some volunteer work. They still have Christmas stuff set up in their house kind of like we do here.

In segment two, not much happens. Elizabeth is needed to help astronauts in some way. I didn’t fully understand all of that. Maybe I will later. Meanwhile, Henry is still trying to help his spy friend from earlier. Once again, I suck at summaries. That’s why I’ll probably never have a blog about my life. I can’t tell stories about myself.

In segment three, Elizabeth talks to a Chinese national about the astronaut situation. It seems as if she’s using veiled insults and threats to say why they should help. There was a great quote about it, “You have a peculiar way of asking for a favor, Madam Secretary.” Anyways, we learn of Demitri’s death. There is also an op that looks like it went badly.

In segment four, a bunch of stuff happens. Elizabeth convinces people to help. “If you think I’m bluffing, you little son of a bitch, try me.” “You were bluffing about the White House pulling our troops out, right?” “Of course I was.” Yet another great quote in this episode. I just hope that I didn’t mess it up. People seem defiant at the space station and seek to help people.

In segment five, we are glad that China, Russia, and the US helped get the astronauts rescued. Henry and Elizabeth were able to help their Alison with her school problem. The situation in the end seemed to take care of itself. Henry decides to quit his job with the NSA. There are no marital problems with him and his wife.

On the next Madam Secretary, US diplomats are used to different problems, but not of weird people. Well, that’s what I gathered from the strange and unusual promo. It didn’t quite make sense to me. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.

Episode from 10-25-2015

For the moment, the TV watching that I’m doing with shows on DVD hasn’t resulted in any changes. That means that I’m still watching the same things that I have been. You know, it is weird. What’s weird? The TV watching habits of mine are weird. During the regular season, I almost always watch all three hours of primetime each night of the week. I also record shows on my laptop to watch later. Then there’s the shows on DVD that I have which also includes recorded shows on VHS from this season (in case three good things are all on at once) and other shows on VHS that I have collected. So I watch a lot more TV then I probably should. But, at least I get to keep writing a blog about TV in general.

Three of my blogs relate to a particular TV show. The other one relates to TV in general. It’s possible that I might create another one about a different TV show. In fact, as long as tape delay is weird on CBS Sundays, you might see me create a blog for any show that airs after this one on Sundays. If the time slot of this show ever changes or this gets cancelled, then I don’t have to worry about replacing it with the next show on at 8/7 Centrals on CBS on Sundays unless I already have a blog about it anyways. Plus, I could always wind up creating a blog about Bob’s Burgers in the future. The main problem with that one is that I’m not sure how I’d fit an apostrophe into the blog link. I don’t think that they’d let me put one in there so I’d have to go without.

I turn on the TV to see what is on right now. I check my primary CBS affiliate and they are showing the news so I don’t have to worry about sports delay on that channel. I check my FOX affiliate and they are showing a game between the Giants and the Cowboys, I think. I can’t tell who is winning due to me not having a widescreen TV. I never have that problem on CBS. Only on FOX does my lack of a widescreen TV cause a problem for watching football. I check my secondary CBS affiliate and they are showing a different news show. Shows will be on time today on CBS. Yay! The game on FOX becomes tied between the two teams.

It looks like ABC is coming in for me today which is awesome. I always hate missing shows, whether it be on ABC or another network. But I have missed more than enough of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Once Upon a Time, and Grey’s Anatomy. Hopefully, I’ll be able to see them on a regular basis this season as I prefer. Since 60 Minutes is on time, I’ll be watching that show and flipping at times to the football game on FOX. I might not get who wins, unless I look it up. I’m not entirely sure that I have the right teams that are playing. Also, for this episode at least, CBS might have finally gotten a journalist to replace Bob Simon on 60 Minutes. I figured that they would probably wait until the next season started before finding a long term replacement for him. His death was unfortunate and I do wonder if it helped prompt Bob Schaeffer into retirement.

From what I can tell, the New York Giants have won the game against the Dallas Cowboys that was on FOX. I’m a bit distracted by the bright orange sky caused by the sun setting where I live. I’m also going to have to record certain shows for my mother and myself. I always typically record this show and blog about it during watching it. It may not be the best method for blogging, but it is the only method that allows me to watch and record other shows on at the same time. The orange sky is turning red and pink. I probably should have taken a picture. Oh well. I have others.

I should remember her name, but I don’t. Now is it just me or are they trying to put too many subplots in this season? Anyways, somebody has pictures of Stevie and the president’s son in bed.

In segment two, there is more on the picture that has not been officially released yet. But, it is leaked online and someone calls Henry about it when he is on a live show of some sort. I’m a bit confused wondering what the opening scene has to do with the rest of the episode right now.

In segment three, we get to see Elizabeth talk with some sort of foreign girl about something that I don’t understand that well. Elizabeth and Henry talk to the president and his wife about what to do regarding the picture. The president seems to be upset at Elizabeth over various recent events. There is an important bill that people are voting on that relates to the foreign girl. I don’t fully understand all of what is going on.

In segment four, Jason doesn’t like the football team since they are mean towards his sister and himself. Anyways, the picture situation was revealed to be caused by a former secret service agent who was looking for revenge in some way. The president makes amend with Elizabeth and Henry.

In segment five, Stevie talks with the former secret service agent about the picture and other events. They pretty much wrap things up in terms of that storyline. She doesn’t want either of them to judge each other based on one event.

On the next Madam Secretary, the whole Ukraine/Russia thing is talked about some more. There’s also some sort of execution maybe. It’s hard to tell for sure. Maybe Elizabeth is trying to prevent one from happening. We’ll see next time or whenever that episode’s blog post is. For now, this is Adam Decker, signing off.
